10/11/2024: The T-Bone steak was outstanding and generous in size for two. Portuguese red wine recommended by staff fit well with the dishes. Mushroom and chorizo apetizer was especially delicious

09/11/2024: Lovely restaurant very busy … staff very attentive , Food we enjoyed my partner had ribeye on the bone 60 euros came with a really tasty salad and fries very large to be honest it could have been shared between two My fish of the day was red snapper it was delicious sauce/stock was so tasty with a Risotto of rice seaweed and greens A lovely white Wine from the Douro also very good . Would defiantly go back . Only negative I found the Starters were not to our liking .

10/10/2024: Returning again with a warm welcome. Lovely suitable table which we had booked in person previously. Thank you. The Seafood Cream soup excellent and we had the nights ‘Special’ Amberjack fish. Simply grilled with a lavish variety of vegetables and salad with excellent friendly service. ‘Cracking’ bottle of House so a very enjoyable evening thank you again.

08/10/2024: Our evening was fantastic in every way. The meal was delicious and a good selection was offered on the menu. The squid appetizer and the avocado & shrimp were very nice. The espada entree and the filet of beef were outstanding. Our waitress was spectacular! She was personable, attentive and anticipated needs before we knew the ourselves. The owner came by the table a couple of times and clearly has a passion for his business. He wanted to make sure everything was perfect and that we enjoyed all aspects of our evening. He even went as far to have arranged for me to have some of the small Madeira wine glasses. I cannot post enough glowing statements about this restaurant. A true gem which deserves their own constellation made from Michelin stars.

15/10/2024: What a find, so accommodating and friendly to a RL fan trying to watch the recent Grand Final. Having tried several so called sports bars who allegedly show all sport I was resigned to trying to watch the Wigan V Hull KR final on my phone. However I came upon The White House online, rang them and they were more than willing to put the big game on for little old me. Raced up there from my hotel and spent 3 brilliant hours watching a great game whilst being looked after by excellent staff. Would definitely recommend this pub to any true sports fa.

22/09/2024: We had spotted this restaurant while staying down the hill at Cliff Bay and doing some walk abouts. At this point in our most excellent visit to Portugal, we were interested in the Argentinian hot dog and incredibly intriguing k-bab. Not only were the dishes terrific, but the service was terrific, and we even went back from the veranda to the bar for an after-dinner drink, maybe Guinness if memory serves. If you are near this most excellent restaurant, do yourself a favor and dive in!

07/07/2024: het restaurant is heel erg leuk ingericht zoals old school wat ze ook in Amerika hebben. De burgers zijn groot en goed belegd en heel lekker. De milkshake banaan is ook zeker een vette dikke aanrader! Zeker de moeite waard als je zin in een lekkere burger en frietjes!!

01/11/2024: Great meal, great setting and lovely service. We had a superb evening here and would highly recommend it. The menu is simple but good, and the food was a delight. The waiters were very friendly and helpful.

12/10/2024: Visited this restaurant twice during our stay. Lovely staff. Excellent food. Varied menu. Staff suggested ordering 5 dishes to start with. We had prawns in garlic, fried olives, mussels and asparagus in scrambled egg, Iberian ham croquettes, patatas bravas, veggie bag (vegetables in filo pastry) with goats cheese and honey, chicken tacos, mushroom and asparagus risotto. This was over both visits!! I would recommend booking a table. Highly recommend.

30/09/2024: We visited Barreirinha Bar Cafe 3 times whilst in Funchal as it has perfect views of Funchal Bay. The burgers are amazing, the Old Fashiond's are also pretty wonderful. The salads though, are served with one baby tomato, very few other salad items and a whole bunch of lettuce with no Vinaigrette Dressing or seasoning whatsoever. I would definitely recommend this place, the staff are attentive and polite. It's out of the Old Town up a hill, but worth it.

29/03/2024: Este lugar era incrível para jantar porque tinha um terraço aconchegante e deliciosas chamuças de frango como entrada. As samosas tinham uma casca perfeitamente fina e crocante, com frango cremoso e levemente temperado por dentro. O risoto de polvo foi 8/10 já que o polvo poderia ser melhor cozido (mas eu ainda gosto), meu namorado pegou lombo e esse prato ficou perfeito então vou escolher na próxima vez também. O crème brûlée também estava muito bom.

28/03/2024: Bom restaurante para jantar enquanto visita o Funchal. É adequado para crianças, a garçonete é muito simpática e o serviço é excelente. Escolhemos frutos do mar com arroz para dividir para 2 pessoas e estava gostoso. A porção era grande o suficiente a um bom preço. Você recebe um aperitivo de boas-vindas que contém pão, manteiga e presunto. Isso diminui o tempo de espera, mas saiba que isso está incluso na conta.

04/04/2024: Tentei este lugar, pois ficava a uma caminhada relativamente curta do nosso hotel e estava prestes a chover - o que aconteceu logo depois que chegamos (na verdade, uma tempestade). Decidimos sentar do lado de fora, mas cobertos, o que foi um erro - pois ficamos com muito frio enquanto comíamos. Um grupo mais velho que veio atrás de nós logo decidiu ir embora porque estava muito frio e não havia lugares suficientes lá dentro. A comida estava boa, mas não combinava com a aparência do lugar e eu provavelmente não voltaria, pois há lugares melhores e mais baratos no centro da cidade.

30/03/2024: A comida era boa e saborosa (prato de queijo um pouco caro para o meu gosto), o vinho era incrível (graças ao cavalheiro que o aconselhou) e todos os funcionários foram excelentes em serem atenciosos, rápidos e amigáveis. Agradecimentos especiais à Silvana, que é natural com os hóspedes e muitos restaurantes e hotéis mais caros não atingem esse nível de excelência

09/11/2024: Prometia ser uma boa opção mas não correspondeu. A comida não é incrível e não tem ambiente. Achei os empregados tensos e pouco afáveis.

05/11/2024: Contemporary and modern setting with a tasting menu and experience to suit. Extremely at-tentative service. Food was all gorgeous, and really good value at €70 per head including the wines. 1st time here, and will visit again when in Madeira. Top tip - after the 1st elevator, check-in at the small “shop” on the right, and you’ll be taken to the 2nd elevator.

09/10/2024: We visited this restaurant twice during our stay in Funchal and we were not disappointed. Friendly staff, quick service and amazing kebabs. We tried both the beef and chicken kebabs and the meat was was so tasty and juicy. The prices are very competitive too.

30/09/2024: We were encouraged to go in after speaking to the hostess at the front door and glad we did. Very good service here and tucked enough off the main road to be relaxing. Good atmosphere on the night we visited. My wife had the fish skewer and I had chucked curry. Both were plentiful and very tasty. Local Poncha was great too! Reasonably priced and would revisit on our next trip!

06/10/2024: This restaurant is attached to the Hotel Castenheiro but is open to the public. As vegans there was limited options to choose, but my goodness they went above and beyond for us, even making making an amuse-bouche from Tofu for us which wasn't on the menu. We had mushroom risotto and baked aubergine and it was absolutely fantastic. They also made us a desert, not on the menu of coconut milk pannacotta. It was our wedding anniversary and the staff made our night very special. 100% recommend the Tipografia. Top food, top chef, top staff.

17/09/2024: Tables dans une très belle cour intérieure ; nappage de grande qualité ; personnel très professionnel et avenant ; trois mises en bouche de très bonne qualité ; rissotto et poisson excellents ; pièce de viande fondante et très bien cuite ; dessert très fin ; bon rapport qualité prix ; Nous avons passé en excellent momeent. Bravo !!!

02/04/2024: A melhor comida indiana que comi há muito tempo! O serviço também é super caloroso e acolhedor. Recomendo vivamente (:
