29/10/2024: Been there twice, nice experience. First you choose meet/cheese from a kind lady’s butcher shop then the restaurant grills it. Don’t miss the avocado salad as well.

19/10/2024: Local incrível para comer comida típica da Madeira, conceito original, primeiro escolhe-se a carne, depois os acompanhamentos e as bebidas, e depois atravessa-se a rua onde nos servem tudo no seu ponto, a atenção foi muito boa e a qualidade e quantidade da comida também, recomendamos sem dúvida e voltaremos!!!

26/10/2024: A very nice evening celebrating a birthday. The food was excellent and the service was friendly. We brought delicacies from Finland to the kitchen.

25/10/2024: Lovely family meal out - every time we visit the food and welcome are both great. The beef picanha (followed by the pineapple with cinnamon) is such a lovely meal.

17/09/2024: Uma experiência fantástica. Jantamos no exterior no jardim, o ambiente é acolhedor, com uma vista fantástica do por do sol e da vila da ponta de sol. O staff é simpático e atencioso. Fomos no 10 aniversário de namoro e ofereceram-nos champanhe/espumante o que foi muito apreciado por nós! A comida é muito boa, recomendo o risotto de cogumelos e a entrada de folhado de queijo cabra e mel. Obrigada!

10/11/2024: The T-Bone steak was outstanding and generous in size for two. Portuguese red wine recommended by staff fit well with the dishes. Mushroom and chorizo apetizer was especially delicious

09/11/2024: Lovely restaurant very busy … staff very attentive , Food we enjoyed my partner had ribeye on the bone 60 euros came with a really tasty salad and fries very large to be honest it could have been shared between two My fish of the day was red snapper it was delicious sauce/stock was so tasty with a Risotto of rice seaweed and greens A lovely white Wine from the Douro also very good . Would defiantly go back . Only negative I found the Starters were not to our liking .

10/10/2024: Returning again with a warm welcome. Lovely suitable table which we had booked in person previously. Thank you. The Seafood Cream soup excellent and we had the nights ‘Special’ Amberjack fish. Simply grilled with a lavish variety of vegetables and salad with excellent friendly service. ‘Cracking’ bottle of House so a very enjoyable evening thank you again.

08/10/2024: Our evening was fantastic in every way. The meal was delicious and a good selection was offered on the menu. The squid appetizer and the avocado & shrimp were very nice. The espada entree and the filet of beef were outstanding. Our waitress was spectacular! She was personable, attentive and anticipated needs before we knew the ourselves. The owner came by the table a couple of times and clearly has a passion for his business. He wanted to make sure everything was perfect and that we enjoyed all aspects of our evening. He even went as far to have arranged for me to have some of the small Madeira wine glasses. I cannot post enough glowing statements about this restaurant. A true gem which deserves their own constellation made from Michelin stars.

04/04/2024: Chegámos a este restaurante por acaso, sem qualquer recomendação, mas a verdade é que se tornou na melhor referência da nossa viagem à Madeira. O local é agradável, situado num ambiente idílico, no verão ou com bom tempo tem que ser um espetáculo. O pessoal é muito simpático, muito simpático e prestativo, especialmente o José, que não poderia ter sido mais atencioso connosco. Digamos que tudo o que provámos foi requintado, o conhecido bolo de caco, uns camarões (chamam-lhe camarão) com alho, arroz de bacalhau caldoso e uma carne que pelo que nos disseram conhecem como "peito de vaca" e é uma das suas especialidades, cozinhadas em lume brando durante mais de 9 horas. Destaque especial para as sobremesas, todas deliciosas, com destaque para o creme brulee de maracujá, uma delícia. 100% recomendado, retornaremos

15/10/2024: What a find, so accommodating and friendly to a RL fan trying to watch the recent Grand Final. Having tried several so called sports bars who allegedly show all sport I was resigned to trying to watch the Wigan V Hull KR final on my phone. However I came upon The White House online, rang them and they were more than willing to put the big game on for little old me. Raced up there from my hotel and spent 3 brilliant hours watching a great game whilst being looked after by excellent staff. Would definitely recommend this pub to any true sports fa.

22/09/2024: We had spotted this restaurant while staying down the hill at Cliff Bay and doing some walk abouts. At this point in our most excellent visit to Portugal, we were interested in the Argentinian hot dog and incredibly intriguing k-bab. Not only were the dishes terrific, but the service was terrific, and we even went back from the veranda to the bar for an after-dinner drink, maybe Guinness if memory serves. If you are near this most excellent restaurant, do yourself a favor and dive in!

07/07/2024: het restaurant is heel erg leuk ingericht zoals old school wat ze ook in Amerika hebben. De burgers zijn groot en goed belegd en heel lekker. De milkshake banaan is ook zeker een vette dikke aanrader! Zeker de moeite waard als je zin in een lekkere burger en frietjes!!

01/11/2024: Great meal, great setting and lovely service. We had a superb evening here and would highly recommend it. The menu is simple but good, and the food was a delight. The waiters were very friendly and helpful.

12/10/2024: Visited this restaurant twice during our stay. Lovely staff. Excellent food. Varied menu. Staff suggested ordering 5 dishes to start with. We had prawns in garlic, fried olives, mussels and asparagus in scrambled egg, Iberian ham croquettes, patatas bravas, veggie bag (vegetables in filo pastry) with goats cheese and honey, chicken tacos, mushroom and asparagus risotto. This was over both visits!! I would recommend booking a table. Highly recommend.

31/03/2024: Fomos servidos com muita simpatia e bebemos um Vinho Verde muito saboroso seguindo uma recomendação. A comida também era boa.

25/03/2024: Pagámos 42€ por uma espade com banana, bife, boco do caco, poncho e 1L de cerveja. Porções muito grandes, restaurante na rua. Saboroso.

30/09/2024: We visited Barreirinha Bar Cafe 3 times whilst in Funchal as it has perfect views of Funchal Bay. The burgers are amazing, the Old Fashiond's are also pretty wonderful. The salads though, are served with one baby tomato, very few other salad items and a whole bunch of lettuce with no Vinaigrette Dressing or seasoning whatsoever. I would definitely recommend this place, the staff are attentive and polite. It's out of the Old Town up a hill, but worth it.
