05/11/2024: If you liked the Beerhouse for it's steak sandwich you should definately try out this place. It offers a lot of different variations with and the french fries with oregano as sidedish is so delicious you don't even need ketchup or mayo to enjoy it! And the price for a meal is more than fair for around 7.50€ you get a good portion!

29/10/2024: Very tasty food which was served quickly. Also the portions were more than enough. Altogether the service was very good!

28/03/2025: El mejor lugar para comer en la ciudad! Tuvimos un bebé de 9 meses y nos hicieron sentir tan bienvenidos. Nos proporcionaron una trona y todo lo que necesitábamos. Nos encantó la casa risotto, pan de ajo tradicional y patatas locales. Estábamos rellenos, pero estaba delicioso. El vino era precioso también. Sorprendido al final por lo razonable que era el proyecto de ley. No puedo recomendar este restaurante lo suficiente.

31/01/2025: Relajado y rústico pero crikey, la comida es increíble. Aunque llegamos tarde un miércoles por la noche, tuvimos un plato de pollo Espetada, verduras de temporada salteadas y batata... cada ingrediente en el plato era fresco, servido caliente y sabroso. También nos sirvieron un pequeño plato de mordiscos de judías y aceitunas en aceite y ajo. Gracias especiales a Ithalo que nos sirvió; tan amable, acogedor y servicial, un chico joven completamente agradable y decente. Este restaurante/tienda de vinos reabrió en agosto de 2024 y fue reformado por el propietario. Las luces del techo son muy brillantes, por decir lo menos, y personalmente no me gusta una televisión en un restaurante, pero el evento principal es la comida y el servicio amable.

Fomos atendidos pelos Tiago, com um serviço impecável, disponível para esclarecer as nossas questões, explicar a confecção da comida e fazer sugestões certeiras. A vista da esplanada é fantástica, vale a pena visitar este ponto da ilha. Sem dúvida o melhor spot

24/01/2025: Adendo janeiro de 2025: Infelizmente o restaurante está fechado! Fomos encaminhados para este restaurante por um morador local. É um simpático restaurante com uma vista fantástica sobre a Praia da Calheta e o mar. As porções são mais que generosas e ainda são digeríveis mesmo depois de várias visitas. Preço muito bom: Pago hoje o Picado de Frango, versão pequena, 10,90€ e o Prego Especial 7€. Serviço amigável, banheiros limpos, tudo foi ótimo. Ficaríamos felizes em ir lá novamente.

04/05/2025: Diese Bar am Rande der Altstadt ist sehr empfehlenswert. Wir hatten einen angenehmen Platz im Freien und wurden vom Kellner bestens bedient. Das Essen und insbesondere die Poncha waren sehr gut. Die Preise sind fair.

17/04/2025: Super bar avec le meilleur poncha de la ville 🤩 Personnel super sympa. Terrasse confortable, joviale... Un vrai plus pour nos vacances à Madère.

18/06/2024: Muito fraco para não dizer pior. Em uma semana na ilha em família, a pior refeição. Não tinham metade dos pratos da ementa, os que tinham eram fracos e foi das refeições mais caras que pagamos! Uma grande desilusão. Não vale mesmo a pena.

28/12/2024: Vi är en grupp nordbor på Madeira som vandrar hit varje lördag för att det är vår favoritbar. Ponchan är färsk och mycket god. Ägaren är skämtsam och trevlig. Vi får mycket extra snacks och kaffet är gott. Vi känner oss så välkomna varje lördag när vi kommer hit!

02/01/2025: Llevamos 8 años viniendo aquí de vacaciones en Maderia. Personal servicial, buena elección de pizzas y aquí es donde los lugareños vienen a comer, excelente comida y relación calidad-precio. Por el momento solo se puede acceder desde el borde de la carretera, ya que se están realizando algunas obras de construcción. Recomiendo encarecidamente un intento.

30/05/2025: Très bon accueil, personnel très agréable et disponible. Repas faits maison, délicieux et copieux. Cela mérite d’emprunter la voie sans issue pour y aller.

29/05/2025: After a long day of hiking in Madeira, our group of 14 arrived at Restaurant Gale around 6:40 PM, extremely hungry and hopeful for a pleasant dinner. We had previously tried another restaurant that told us dinner would only be served after 7 PM, so we were relieved when Gale confirmed they were already serving dinner. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt odd – only one table was occupied indoors, and although we needed a large outdoor table for all of us, the staff agreed to accommodate us. We were given menus and shortly after informed that certain key dishes, including octopus (which most of us had wanted), were unavailable. Disappointed but famished, we decided to order other items. We were told food would take about 40 minutes because "everything is fresh." While the wait seemed a bit long, we accepted it, assuming at least starters would arrive in the meantime. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The only thing we received in the first 30 minutes was some bread( from our order , not for free :) .Meanwhile, young children's —presumably the owner’s—were crying and screaming incessantly inside and outside , making it impossible to relax. After an hour, no starters, no drinks (other than a small local wine sample), and no sign of our main meals. Still, we remained patient and polite, albeit growing increasingly frustrated and exhausted. At the 2 hour and 40-minute mark, I finally asked about the starters, pointing out that a “starter” should not arrive hours into a meal. Only then did some food begin to appear, but not for everyone. Throughout this entire period, we were the only customers for most of the evening—except for two individuals who came, ordered, ate, and left before we even received our food. The final dishes arrived a shocking 3 hours and 10 minutes after ordering. The quality was appalling: -A seafood rice dish came in a pot of watery liquid, the rice was undercooked, and it was virtually tasteless. -A carbonara was inexplicably served with olives. -Three portions of calamari were ordered, but only two arrived. -Tuna, ordered with potatoes, arrived with rice and beef gravy – an awful mismatch for fish. And the list could continue The worst part? The so-called chef, who turned out to be the owner’s father, eventually came to our table and admitted he was alone in the kitchen because the staff had just left. In fact, we had seen them sitting nearby, smoking – clearly not in a rush to help if was need it . If the kitchen was understaffed, why didn’t anyone tell us before taking our order? Why they have been that greedy just to get money for 14th people but horrible service ? To top off the entire ordeal, despite the disastrous service, excessive wait time, and dreadful food, the owner refused to offer any discount whatsoever. They charged us fully, without a hint of apology or goodwill. This was without a doubt one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had – a complete lack of professionalism, organisation, and basic respect for customers. Avoid this place at all costs. If we could give zero stars, we would. Unfortunately we lost our temper to make some photos /videos
