01/10/2024: We have been coming to this restaurant for the last 12years. Last year we were a bit disappointed but I’m delighted to say this year it was right back to its very high standards. Although it was very busy the staff were attentive, particularly the wine waiter who within minutes of us being seated provided us with a glass of bubbly and before we could finish that had served us a very nice glass of white wine which he then proceeded to top up 5 times before starting on the red wine! I had a steak Rossini and do not understand why we can’t get steak like that at home without paying a fortune. The fixed price menu which allows you to chose freely off the a la carte menu and includes unlimited wine is fantastic value. We will definitely be back next year!

30/09/2024: Disappointed at first visit. The service was a bit slow, but it was a nice place to sit outside the old fort and background music was lovely. The duck breast was very tough so sadly I didn't enjoy it, no staff came to the table at anytime during the meal or I would have mentioned it. The desserts redeemed them, not sure I would go again though.

29/10/2024: Steak sandwich and another burger sandwich along with the tomato soup. Pleasant service and value for money. It is nice to find reliable place as a tourist

25/10/2024: Endroit simple et accueillant. Service rapide. On y mange bien. Portion copieuse. Poisson frais et hamburger délicieux. Prix plus que raisonnable.

06/11/2024: Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut und der Service wird sehr groß geschrieben. Hier wird man als Gast sehr gerne gesehen. Freundlich und zuvorkommend wird hier groß geschrieben

02/11/2024: Schönes Ambiente. SEHR gutes, leckeres Essen. Tolle Getränkeauswahl auch bei nicht alkoholischen Getränken. Zum Beispiel der Passionsfruchtsaft ist extrem lecker. Freundliches Personal. Schneller Service.

03/11/2024: Fomos jantar a 2 e adorámos. Comida fantástica, desde à entrada ao prato principal. Ambiente acolhedor e staff muito simpático. Aconselho!!

16/10/2024: Sorry I don’t share the opinions of recent reviewers. I thought this was distinctly average, from an indifferent welcome, to a pretty poor choice of courtyard tables, to some pretty average food and wine. So if you want something average and reasonably priced, near the cruise terminal and marina, this fits the bill. If you want classy, fine dining, keep looking!

15/10/2024: This has now become my very favourite restaurant in Funchal, and many other people's too. In spite of being quite large, it is usually quite full, so it's best to book your table. Everything here is really fresh,as all ingredients are very carefully selected daily by the owner, whilst the cooking and artistic presentation of each dish, resembles the original paintings which adorn the restaurant's walls. Service by the attentive staff is elegant and extremely stylish. The waterfront location, being immediately opposite the Marina, makes it both easy to find, but also very memorable.There's an exceptional wine list, but in truth, the carefully sourced red and white Douro house wine, is a joy to compliment one's meal with. The final bonus is the bill at the meal's end. This represents astonishingly good value, for dining at this exceptional level.

29/09/2024: Took a trip out to Santana and called him here on a Monday lunchtime. The restaurant and terrace was almost full but managed to get a table. Had our best traditional meal of our holiday. We had grilled tuna and stake on a skewer. Both were really tasty and tender. The staff were very friendly and would highly recommend a visit. Sorry no photos taken.

21/09/2024: Het eten was simpel maar heerlijk, de bediening erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Een knoflookbroodje vooraf, heerlijke vis als hoofdgerecht en een zalig toetje voor zeer weinig geld. Echt een aanrader!

28/03/2024: Os preços podem estar acima da média da região, mas a relação preço-desempenho é excelente. O ambiente é sofisticado, o serviço é simpático e acolhedor, a vista através da fachada de vidro sobre o vale até ao mar é magnífica - mesmo no escuro (mar de luzes). Sentimo-nos como se estivéssemos num restaurante muito mais caro e acabámos por pagar pouco menos de 50€ por uma entrada (bolo de caco), dois aperitivos (poncho), uma grande água com gás e dois pratos principais com peixe. Recomendação 100%. Existe até um estacionamento subterrâneo de onde você pode chegar ao restaurante e voltar em local seco se chover.

21/03/2024: Bifes divinos, porções generosas. Você mesmo pode preparar o t-bone na mesa, fritando do jeito que quiser.

30/10/2024: The staff were very welcoming on arrival. The unique selling point is in the name, all the dishes are named after famous composers, it has lots of art on the walls, all the food was acceptable but the portions were quite small. Overall I would recommend it and would eat there again.

28/03/2024: O melhor absoluto e já estive lá duas vezes. Eu estava de férias. Eu recomendo. Equipe encantadora, amigável, limpa. Eles ainda têm um robô que achei muito surpreendente trazendo comida para as mesas.

28/03/2024: Refeição decente, mas cheiro perceptível de esgoto no restaurante. E não gostamos do acréscimo na cabeça do cliente. Aumentou porque turistas! É abusado !!!

13/10/2024: Delicious, freshly cooked food. We enjoyed the lamb and scabbard fish with banana and almonds. Lovely salad and veg too. Highlight is the super ocean view and beautifully looked after garden. Family run, and very attentive friendly service.

11/10/2024: Really nice ocean view, nice waitress - as opposed to the food. Lapas were undercooked and uncleand, really terrible taste. We ate lapas in a few different places and first time we for something like this. Tomato soup have literally no taste. Scabbard fish was greasy and without seasoning. Espatada - beef was stale. I do kot recommend this place.

03/04/2024: Muito bom, restaurante recomendado! O peixe espada com banana e o pão de alho são muito saborosos. Nunca vi uma garçonete tão atenciosa que traz um cobertor quando está frio ou uma cadeira para colocar a sacola :D

17/09/2024: Uma experiência fantástica. Jantamos no exterior no jardim, o ambiente é acolhedor, com uma vista fantástica do por do sol e da vila da ponta de sol. O staff é simpático e atencioso. Fomos no 10 aniversário de namoro e ofereceram-nos champanhe/espumante o que foi muito apreciado por nós! A comida é muito boa, recomendo o risotto de cogumelos e a entrada de folhado de queijo cabra e mel. Obrigada!

10/11/2024: The T-Bone steak was outstanding and generous in size for two. Portuguese red wine recommended by staff fit well with the dishes. Mushroom and chorizo apetizer was especially delicious

09/11/2024: Lovely restaurant very busy … staff very attentive , Food we enjoyed my partner had ribeye on the bone 60 euros came with a really tasty salad and fries very large to be honest it could have been shared between two My fish of the day was red snapper it was delicious sauce/stock was so tasty with a Risotto of rice seaweed and greens A lovely white Wine from the Douro also very good . Would defiantly go back . Only negative I found the Starters were not to our liking .

01/11/2024: Great meal, great setting and lovely service. We had a superb evening here and would highly recommend it. The menu is simple but good, and the food was a delight. The waiters were very friendly and helpful.

12/10/2024: Visited this restaurant twice during our stay. Lovely staff. Excellent food. Varied menu. Staff suggested ordering 5 dishes to start with. We had prawns in garlic, fried olives, mussels and asparagus in scrambled egg, Iberian ham croquettes, patatas bravas, veggie bag (vegetables in filo pastry) with goats cheese and honey, chicken tacos, mushroom and asparagus risotto. This was over both visits!! I would recommend booking a table. Highly recommend.
