27/07/2024: I agree with the vast majority of the reviews of this place. An excellent place!!! Food, and very reasonably priced. Good service and lovely staff. Inside space, covered space, and alfreso. What more could you want?

01/07/2024: Por um acaso viemos parar neste restaurante muito bom! Excelente serviço e comida de qualidade! Experimentamos a entrada de camarão, bife grelhado, bochechas de porco e o famoso peixe espada com banana, tudo maravilhoso, até a sopa de legumes. Merece a visita?

01/09/2024: Holy sh1t Batman! Food is amazing. We had the bread and oils and olives. Then the cheese chaturi board. Amazing. The owner is such a wonderful hostess. Their own wines breads jams.

08/09/2024: We stopped by chance to eat, but the experience was really great. the food is tasty and fresh. we took the portions of fish and mussels recommended by the waiter. the service was fast and professional. we recommend the place. the wonderful scenery was a plus

01/04/2024: Pior lugar para comer em toda Rivera Brava. 29/03/2024. Diz fora do Grill, o que faria muitos acreditarem que a comida é cozida no carvão, carvão ou diretamente na lenha, mas na verdade é uma churrasqueira a vapor! Mas isso é o mínimo, visto que nós dois pedimos 2 porcos (ibéricos) e ERAM AMBOS DUROS COMO ROCHAS E PEQUENAS PORÇÕES. Também comemos umas batatas fritas que custaram 7,50€! E eles eram apenas batatas fritas com algumas ervas por cima. A garçonete também foi extremamente rude e, quando pedimos algumas especificações sobre a comida, ela apenas disse que não sei e nos deu o menu. NÃO VÁ!! P.S. também pagamos 55€ por uma carne de porco barata e algumas batatas fritas, ENVERGONHANTE!

23/03/2024: Tem um garçom tão fofo aqui, meu Deus gatos😸, que galante ele é!!! Pedimos um prato de carne para dois. A carne estava muito saborosa. Também nos trouxeram cerveja para experimentar antes de pedir :) Recomendo a vocês 🥰😍 não tem fotos de comida, pois estávamos com fome e comemos tudo de uma vez))) Mas este lugar vale suas estrelas :) Separadamente, vale destacar a banana 🍌 cerveja 🍺 🥰🥰🥰🥰

10/10/2024: Afternoon tea at Balancal was superbly enjoyable. Very good scones and a light orange cake accompanied with a finger sandwiches. Must reinforce the service from the restaurante staff and the always attentive Mr Mario.

25/09/2024: We enjoyed two lunches and a dinner here. Exemplary cuisine and service at this fine restaurant in the lovely club house, with its terrace and spectacular views. The menu is the same for lunch or dinner, comprising light snacks to substantial meals, with a great choice and value for money. Not only is the food outrageously tasty, but the presentation is eye-catching. Service is first class in all respects. Excellent wine list, including some really fine local offerings. Totally recommendable.

12/11/2024: In diesem Jahr waren wir das erste Mal in diesem Restaurant, es lag direkt gegenüber von unserem Hotel. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr höflich und zuvorkommend, teilweise auch sehr lustig und kommunikativ. Leckeres Essen in großen Portionen, angemessene Preise. An zwei Abenden (von 4) waren wir die letzten Gäste, haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Immer wieder gerne 👍

02/11/2024: Tuvimos una comida encantadora aquí, buena comida y un servicio muy amable. Tenían dos televisores montados en la pared en los que simplemente no entiendo, ¡no agrega nada! Era el más caro de todos los restaurantes que habíamos comido en esa semana, por cierto, así que esto nos impediría volver creo. Pero una gran comida sin embargo.

21/09/2024: Fantastisk mat og service. I en bakgata (gågate) som er skjermet for støy og mange andre turister. God forståelse for glutenfri mat. Rimelige priser.

24/07/2024: Lovely place to eat, just off the main squares. Family enjoyed amazing food (an omelette and salads), and service was speedy and friendly.

16/06/2024: En cherchant dans les petites rues typiques des environs de la Sé, sommes tombés sur ce petit restaurant dont la carte nous a plu. Il ne faisait pas très chaud, avons mangé à l'intérieur, avons bien mangé. Bonnes omelettes, bon porc, bon espada aux petits oignons. Service rapide, gentilesse du personnel, prix corrects

30/09/2024: Went here while on holiday in Funchal. It's just next to the Pestana Casino Park hotel. We both had the spare ribs, which were superb. Really friendly and efficient staff, and a nice atmosphere. Great value too. Highly recommended.

26/09/2024: We found this restaurant by chance. We were walking along looking at Restaurants for our stay in Funchal,having taken a few of Tripadvisor’s top few; when we saw A Casa do Vizinho. We were looking at the menu and liking what we saw when a car pulled up and man got out told us that it was closed but would open later. We asked if we could book and opened up for us and made a booking for a few nights later. He told us that he was the “Sous-chef. We went last night and had an excellent meal with some very unusual dishes, which made a nice change from many of the other excellent meals we have had here in Funchal The wine list was extensive and quite reasonably priced. We had really enjoyable evening helped by the attentive service and friendly conversation of Bruno who seemed to be in charge generally.

15/06/2024: Bonne cuisine locale, goûteuse et copieuse. Le bacalhau con nata est excellent, à ne pas manquer. Accueil en français. Vous ne serez pas déçu.

23/04/2024: On a passe notre soirée a Santo !Antonio DA Serra et le moins qu on puisse dire c est que l offre de restaurants sur la commune est pas énorme ! Le resto de notre hôtel étant complet nous nous sommes rabattus sur ce restaurant ! Bon rien d extraordinaire niveau de la cuisine c est bon mais pas de quoi sauter au plafond non plus...nous avons pris une soupe une salade de sardine (3 exactement dans le plat...) et un ragout...par contre c est pas cher 51 euros pour tout ça !

01/04/2024: A carne que pedimos mal passada estava bem passada. Fora isso, tudo bem - o atum é saboroso, embora os acréscimos/molhos sejam medianos, mas a salada fica ótima com o bife e o espeto (especialmente para Portugal). No geral ok, mas o vizinho do Lem é muito melhor.

03/10/2024: Prachtig restaurant met een prachtig uitzicht. Alles was top, zowel de fijne gerechtjes al de bediening. We hebben genoten.

02/10/2024: Staff incompetent and arrogant, not a good combination. We were brought the wrong drinks and despite us sending them back they returned the same drinks insisting that they were correct. It is clear that they don’t know or even care about how to make classic cocktails

08/09/2024: As ponchas antes acompanhavam com amendoin,ou tremoço. Não deviam ter alterado pra as tostas. Já encontrei as casas de banho intragaveis, hoje sem sabão. Tende em conta que o espaço é agradável deviriam ter isso em atenção.

12/09/2024: Eine Gaststätte typisch für einen kleinen Ort, viele Einheimische, goldig und sauber eingerichtet, freundlich im Service. Wir hatten mittags Fisch und Espetada, den berühmten Spieß mit Fleisch, der hier direkt in den Tisch gepiekst wird. Durchgehend geöffnet. Beilagen separat, schöne Desserts. Eigener Parkplatz! Kartenzahlung möglich. Definitiv empfehlenswert.

04/10/2024: Ein sehr gemütlicher Innenhof. Nette Bedienung. Wir haben hier zwar nur Puncha getrunken, sind aber mehrmals hin, da die Atmosphäre gemütlich und einladend ist. Preise sind eher günstig. Sehr zu empfehlen ❤️

10/09/2024: Hübsche kleine Bar mit angenehmen Außenbereich und interessant gemischtem Publikum. Sehr netter Service. Gut für den kleinen Hunger, zum Beispiel mit den einheimischen Spezialitäten auf der letzten Seite der Karte (Empfehlungen: der salzige Thunfisch auf Brot und der Käse mit kleinen Zwieback-Broten und Marmelade).
