31/01/2025: Absolutamente fantástico. Mi esposa y yo visitamos el Bistro por casualidad para un almuerzo un día, era tan bueno que al día siguiente reservamos una mesa para la cena. La comida era estupenda! Y el servicio era perfecto.

11/01/2025: Increíble comida y servicio. Para empezar, la ensalada Caprese estaba deliciosa, y un montón de ella. El principal era la carne de res con puré de patata y verduras - sabía muy bien y la salsa era agradable y rico. Acabados con martinis expresos, que se hicieron a la perfección. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante.

05/02/2025: Pequeno e acolhedor bar de vinhos. Só tinha 3 (posteriormente retificados de 2) tipos de vidro, mas o copo escolhido (vermelho, com frutas) tinha um sabor adorável. É preciso dizer, no entanto, que a sua carta de vinhos é extremamente bem abastecida e que tanto as tapas frias como as quentes tinham um sabor excelente. O lugar pode ser altamente recomendado 👍

24/01/2025: We were recommended to this restaurant by some good friends with a similar liking for exceptional food. We booked the Golden Package which included a pick up and return in a vintage car along with a 3 course meal and wine included. The driver arrived punctually at the arranged time, when we got to the restaurant our table was laid up beautifully with a golden table cloth and flower petals. Menus were brought to us along with a glass of Champagne and an Amuse Bouche. There was a choice of starter, main & desert all of which were very tasty and beautifully presented. There was also a sorbet between starter and main. Along with the food there was a white wine, red wine and also a Madeira wine with desert with wines being topped up as we finished the glass. Service was as you would expect in a fine dining restaurant but the best part was that although this was not a cheap night out it was not what I would consider the cost of fine dining. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special night.

18/01/2025: In einem wunderschönen Ambiente haben wir hervorragend gegessen. Mein Oktopusrisotto war zum Niederknien. Sollten wir wieder her kommen ist der Besuch dieses Restaurants schon eingeplant.

15/11/2024: Il faudra vraiment m'expliquer pourquoi on considere cet endroit comme un restaurant. Vous pouvez manger toutes les sucreries de la carte sans soucis si vous n'avez pas peur du gras. Pour les plats salés c'est une autre histoire...

31/12/2024: Si lo que quieres son cervezas emocionantes de todo el mundo, ¡este es el lugar para visitar en Funchal! Duarte y su esposa dirigen un encantador bar con cervezas para todos, desde lúpulo cítrico IPA's hasta Imperial stouts. ¿Ves algo de lo que no estés seguro? entonces pide una probada - nada es demasiado problema.

08/02/2025: Lugar realmente excepcional para la buena comida local. Súper amable. Siempre recomiendo el pescado o la sopa (o ambos! ). Cerveza y vino encantador, a buenos precios.

01/01/2025: Google értékelések/cikkek alapján esett erre a snack bárra a választásunk. Szerettünk volna egy olyan helyen ebédelni, ami nem a luxi kategória és hozza a “snack bár” jelleget. Kissé kintebbre esik a várostól és elsőre habár nem túl bizalom gerjesztő, hidd el, hogy jó lesz. Amúgy fullon volt, mikor megérkeztünk. Majd’ 30 percet vàrtunk, de tök jó élmény volt. Kedves a személyzet, finomak az ételek, a mennyiség is tökéletes. Árban pedig majdhogynem verhetetlen, eddig még nem volt, ami lekörözte volna. :)

31/12/2024: It's always fun to see the look on the face of the staff at a restaurant/cafe when you rock up and say: "Table for 13 please", but the staff of Bela 5 were unfazed and shuffled things around a little and soon accommodated us. It was really buzzing and is clearly popular with locals (always a good sign) as well as tourists - I assume the fact that it's pretty highly placed on the Tripadvisor league table generates a certain amount of business. Service was friendly and fun, and they were able to accommodate the two veggies in the party with no problem at all. A lot of us had the various steak-filled Bolo de Caco, though there were a few variations (including one who had a tuna steak instead of beef in hers, and liked it a lot) plus loads of hand-made chips (truly excellent). When I asked for a "large beer", the question came: litre or half-litre - a new one on me but I went for the half. Everything arrived quickly and was truly delicious. One of the party asked for some hot sauce: one of them was clearly for fun and came with a strict warning (I tried it too - I've seen less brutal military weapons) but the other was more sane and very tasty. Bela 5 was by a long way the best lunch venue in our five-day stay in Funchal. It's popular, the service is great, the food's amazing, and unbelievably the bill for the 13 of us was below EUR100. Go the Bela 5. It's fabulous.

06/02/2025: We were disappointed when we heard that Cris had moved to Australia but encouraged when we heard that Cris’s Place was still in the family and run by the same staff. The transition appears to have been seamless. The place is just as good as it always has been. So much so that we booked our Valentines night table last week.

Opções vegetarianas e veganas, muuuito deliciosas também, assim como a batata-doce frita 🤤 Obrigado por esta ótima noite, voltaremos! P.S.: Onde você consegue esse queijo vegano na ilha??

04/01/2025: I can seriously say we ate the best steak ever here - my ribeye was amazing with delicious jacket potato and finished with tasty pancakes. The staff were friendly, lovely and super efficient.
