19/08/2024: Restaurante pequeno mas muito agradável! Comida caseira feita com carinho! Excelente também no preço, difícil de encontrar! Recomendo a 100%! Muito bom!

20/06/2024: Pratos tradicionais portugueses, sempre bons. Pudim flan na forma de alumínio, mais português não há. Serviço um pouquinho demorado, talvez pela casa cheia. Simpatia no serviço. Recomendo.

08/10/2024: 3,5 ⭐️ Ambiente da esplanada agradável e staff muito simpático. A comida era boa, porém achámos que o valor era muito exagerado quando comparado com a qualidade da comida. Pagámos 35€ por pessoa com 2 entradas, 1 prato principal a dividir, bebidas e uma sobremesa a dividir.

08/08/2024: Pros 1) this is a nice well decorated restaurant with plenty of space inside and out. 2) Good location on the waterfront. 3) service is good and pretty quick. 4) the menu is large with lots of options Cons 1) the dishes are not consistent and range from good to pretty mediocre so you really know what to order. 2) pricing is on the higher side. 3) the peking duck which is supposed to be a treat, was bland. Overall we would probably visit The Old House again but would restrict ourselves to the following dishes which stood out: Spicy wonton. Savory noodles. Pork in sweet bean sauce. Green beans with spicy pork. Enjoy

24/09/2024: We had a really delicious dinner here. Some of the dishes we had were: tuna tartare with asian flavors; Carpaccio with arugula, yuzu, truffle and parmesan; Croquettes with truffle mustard; Cantinho style steak; and Pork from Alentejo with fries, farofa and black beans; chocolate lava cakes; and a pudding (caramel, I believe). Everything was tasty and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend it.

16/09/2024: Just finished a week stay in Cascais and ate here 3 times during our stay. Every time our expectations are exceeded, the food is beautifully cooked and presented and the service fantastic (special mention to Mateus whose wine and food recommendations were spot on). All food has amazing depths of flavour and the wine gorgeous. Will definitely be back there when next in Cascais!

11/10/2024: As Velhas had 2 very friendly waiters but they couldn't cope with all the customers. One of our party was served a drink and the rest of us waited at least another 10mins without any thing. The food was well cooked but a little brief...2 potatoes and no other vegetable. One of the meals was very over salted but neither of the waiters came back to check if the food was alright. I saw othe customers trying to attract their attention but they were too rushed to look after any customer properly .

09/10/2024: Went to As Velhas for dinner last night. In late September the concierge at our hotel told us he had made a reservation for us for 6 people at 8 pm. We arrived and were told that they had no record of the reservation. After some resistance they figured out a way to accommodate us. Once seated it took a bit for them to get to us to take our order for food and wine but once they did things flowed very smoothly. The food came out piping hot and was delicious! The restaurant was run by two men who seemed to be doing everything except the cooking. They were literally running through the restaurant serving people, clearing tables…Yet they somehow seemed to be giving everyone personal service, were very warm and friendly and apologetic for any confusion about the reservation. We would definitely go back!

10/11/2024: Based on a recommendation from a local tour guide, my husband and I reserved a table at this charming and delightful Fado restaurant in the heart of Alfalma. We have eaten at dozens of restaurants throughout Portugal since we arrived a month ago, and this ranks amongst the best and most memorable. Bruno, our waiter, was very attentive. The owner who made every guest feel at home was also one of the main Fado entertainers. Our food was delicious, the decor was very original and the live music was excellent!

28/10/2024: One of the best places ,familiar and nice people .Good food friendly and speak English. The artist was perfect as well as all musicians

15/11/2024: Fleisch/Fisch waren sehr lecker/hochwertig. Nettes Personal guter Service Tapa voraus (Oliven, Brot, Frischkäse)

06/10/2024: We went with friends. Very welcoming and open place, good choice between fish and meat. Superb bacalao broa. Great way to prepare the potatoes with the pork filet as well. Very correct prices as well.

10/03/2024: Um restaurante que mantem a tradição das "tascas" da região de Sintra/Colares. Também a tradição própria da casa. Boa comida, atendimento informal e simpático, uma clientela fiel. A visitar, sem dúvida.
