On the worst night of rain for weeks, this was the busiest place in the old town, and with good reason. Nice welcome and very friendly, on the ball staff. The owner or manager (?) looks permanently grumpy, but pretty much ignored the customers, which is fine. Atmosphere, food and bev choice, presentation and quality all good, quantities generous. Fixtures, fittings ,and decor all a bit tired and scruffy, prices quite ambitious, but rent is probably huge. Overall though very satisfactory, and good service. Taking my comments into account, nice meal, nice evening.

Le service n’est pas des plus agréable On veut faire comme dans les grands restos en vous servant vos accompagnements dans l’assiette mais sans aucun sourire … Mon assiette de picanho était bonne mais la quantité de la viande loin d’être suffisante … Le service était très long et interminable pour obtenir l’addition.

Excelente comida, serviço rápido e simpático. Marca a diferença, na ementa (Pratos e cozinha do mundo), relativamente à maioria dos restaurantes da Madeira.

22/01/2025: Bel endroit et service efficace et accueillant. En revanche cuisine décevante. Plats qui se veulent originaux avec surabondance de couleurs et d’ingrédients mais qui manquent de finesse. Alliance des saveurs absente. Dommage.
05/01/2025: Super romantic and charming restaurant. The food was really good but one of the beefs were well done instead of medium. The waiters were sweet but not very competent so we were waiting long time with hot food for 3 but no food for the 4.

02/01/2025: What a great discovery! Having walked past this restaurant for almost 7 years I recently read a post that highly recommended it. I am Gluten Free, and it appeared there was a good food selection. My wife isn’t GF so her choice was extensive. From the minute we booked online, then arrived - the service was second to none. As for the food, a member of staff took me through my options and what would work for me, and how many dishes we needed for 2 adults. If we needed we could order more. We ordered a selection of Garlic bread (not for me 😢), Patatas Brava, Garlic Prawns, Vegetable Timpale, and steak. Absolutely delicious. Washed down with a delightful Monte Vehlo red wine. The service was excellent throughout the night and the team really appeared to focus on their customers without being in your face. Many thanks all - will be back!
16/12/2024: We ate here twice in one week and each visit was enjoyable. The tapas were tasty and varied. Wine reasonably priced at €21 a bottle. Staff were friendly and efficient. If we return to Funchal a visit is a must.
