25/10/2024: Tudo excelente, desde o atendimento, passando pelo espaço e terminando pela refeição servida. Funcionários muito simpáticos e atenciosos. Espaço muito bem cuidado, organizado e limpo. Refeição que experimentámos (entrada: salada de polvo com maionese de lima (oferta do chefe) e prato: Cozido) sem dúvida excecional. O Cozido traz vários tipos de carnes muito bem confecionadas e saborosas, assim como os legumes e os tubérculos. Sem dúvida, para repetir!

28/09/2024: This was an attractive restaurant, but we both came away disappointed with our meals. My wife had the gnocchi with vegetables dish. The gnocchi was gigantic and not very good. I had the breast of chicken which was a better choice, but still was below my expectations given the setting and prices.

18/10/2024: I had researched Furnas and Geothermal Cuisine offered throughout the town. I believe at most restaurants you need to reserve a day or so in advance for the different Cozidos, etc. Caldeiras & Vulcoes website was easy to navigate and my email with reservation was quickly firmed up. Their menu is varied, so something for everyone. The restaurant is located at the east end of town, near the steaming calderias = interesting. (FYI, the restaurant is up one flight of stairs.) We also drove to the lake where most meals are cooked. If you arrive around 10:30 am you might catch the men transferring the huge pots to/from the steam pits. Now to the food! We had the traditional Cozido for two with a mixture of meats, sausage and veggies. Rice was served on the side. The portions are giant and I think we could have shared one. We were able to bring the uneaten leftovers back to our vacation rental. The entire meal reminded me of New England boiled dinner. And I loved the Morcela (blood sauage).

04/10/2024: Food was okay, service was awful. Tried to engage in friendly conversation but I think the staff are past the busy season and don’t care. Tomorrow we will try Tony’s.

23/09/2024: El cocido muy bueno. Opciones para vegetarianos pocas. El pescado es frito o si no atún a precio de riñón, concretamente fue el “Peixe dos Açores Grelhado, Papa de Carolo, Aioli de Coentros, Verde Grelhado”. Preguntamos a la camarera y nos dijo que era grande, pero al recibirlo en la mesa ni tenía verduras asadas ni era grande (27€ el plato), cuando le preguntamos al camarero nos dice que el verde grelhado son dos hojas verdes cortadas en redondo. Sin palabras nos quedamos.

27/08/2024: Great place to eat at least for lunch that is. We took a tour from our hotel with the best driver ever and he took us here. We had the famous stew which is cooked in the heat of the volcanos near lake Furnas. They have underground pots in a hole they cover and slow cook every day. What a treat. It had corned beef, pork belly, cabbage, carrots, turnip, blood sausage, chorizo and who knows what else. The flavor of the meat and vegetables was to die for if you like the ingredients. A must if you are in the Azores. Service was outstanding but it is a busy place. Very clean and the owner greets you at the door. Parking is a little difficult and there are stairs to go up to the main dining area with no elevator. Yummy!

05/04/2024: Solto, caro e não recomendado. Fizemos a tábua de queijos (muito barata por 15€) e experimentámos o cozido das furnas (caro, e não vale muito a pena). Francamente, um blefe

05/04/2024: Pratos grandes e generosos, você não vai deixar fome. A atmosfera é muito barulhenta devido ao número de pessoas lá. Mas como bem e com bom preço. Mesmo saturados, eles contratam o serviço. O lugar é muito bom. Obrigado
