27/10/2024: Fantastic food! Good value and nicely cooked. Super Bock Beer is recommended as Coral (local Madeira beer is a bit light for my taste) Friendly service and popular place to eat. Highly recommended.

25/09/2024: Un petit restaurant modeste,cuisine locale, où les prix sont abordables et les serveurs agréables. Parfait pour un repas tranquille dans une ambiance détendue. Nous le recommandons pour une sortie simple et sans prétention. Nous y avons mangé deux fois !

04/10/2024: Ein sehr gemütlicher Innenhof. Nette Bedienung. Wir haben hier zwar nur Puncha getrunken, sind aber mehrmals hin, da die Atmosphäre gemütlich und einladend ist. Preise sind eher günstig. Sehr zu empfehlen ❤️

10/09/2024: Hübsche kleine Bar mit angenehmen Außenbereich und interessant gemischtem Publikum. Sehr netter Service. Gut für den kleinen Hunger, zum Beispiel mit den einheimischen Spezialitäten auf der letzten Seite der Karte (Empfehlungen: der salzige Thunfisch auf Brot und der Käse mit kleinen Zwieback-Broten und Marmelade).

11/11/2024: Having discovered Olives we ate there on two consecutive evenings and enjoyed excellent dinners on both occasions. There is a very good selection of vegetarian options as well as meat and fish choices, prepared and presented to a very high standard . The wine list is well chosen offering wines by the bottle or glass. Service was friendly and attentive. We particularly enjoyed sitting on one of the three little balconies eating our dinner and watching the world go by along the pedestrian street below. When we return to Funchal next year we will definitely go back to Olives.

05/11/2024: Best Date night ever! Romantic meal on the Juliette balcony, wonderfully prepped food, attentive service, perfect atmosphere. Without a doubt among our favorite meals out. I had the Duck, my wife had Parrotfish. Both were wonderful. Go to Olives, it's well worth it.

29/08/2024: Este lugar é incrível, é um bar local e típico onde você pode comer um peixe espada e sanduíches de língua de vaca que são muito deliciosos.

06/10/2024: Great place for a refreshment or Lunch . Good good , good view , friendly staff . Afterwards go through a food at the back of the cafe into a 2 acre garden to die for . You will probably have it to yourself as hardly anyone finds it . It is superb ; a real gardeners treasure.

08/07/2024: Well worth searching out this lovely restaurant. Google maps takes you straight to it. Go up the stairs and a whole new world opens up. Like being in a garden. Food is amazing. We had the vegetarian pasta with lots of lovely fresh vegetables. Dessert was a tasty cinnamon flavoured apple pie with ice cream and a very chocolatey mousse. Excellent.

03/04/2024: Adoramos ficar neste hotel, fomos à recepção e reservamos directamente para 2 dias e foram super simpáticos, fizeram um upgrade, deram todas as informações, estacionamento 10 euros por dia, super central. Pequeno almoço SUPER com grande variedade e pessoas simpáticas! Rooftop com piscina, jacuzzi ,sauna e vista sobre o Funchal! Voltarei certamente! Recomendo!

02/04/2024: Um hotel que você deseja evitar. Móveis barulhentos e desgastados e piscina fria. Nenhuma resposta às reclamações. A equipe é simpática e o café da manhã é bom.

12/11/2024: We have passed this place a few times during the week and it always looks busy. The food looks good and it seems popular. It is on the main tourist run, but amongst all the others and no pressure to stop. On our last night, we decided to stop and sit here for drinks as it was a bit too early to eat. The service is impecable, fast friendly and a nice ambience with the music and they guys all busy with serving and the bbq going. We had two red wines and sat for about half an hour just relaxing and people watching. Wine was nice and total cost was £8.33 (converted by Monzo), which we didn't think was too bad. The table next to us had a hanging kebab which was cooked fresh in front of us and looked really good. We liked it.

04/10/2024: Kamen hier am Anreisetag vorbei. Nur für einen Snack und erhielten die Information dass in der TOKA DE BACO der beste Rinderfleischspieß zubereitet wird. Das Erlebnis hatten wir tatsächlich nach wenigen Tagen und Vergleichsessen. Der beste Espetada. Das Fleisch wie gewünscht. Gerne wieder. Auch der Schwertfisch ist hervorragend zubereitet.

15/10/2024: Detta blev vår favoritrestaurang under vår vistelse på Madeira. Utsökt mat och trevlig familjär service. Ligger i slutet av Praia Formosa och har man tur kan solnedgången vara spektakulär.

07/10/2024: Really good portions and food was really nice. Service was quick and staff were polite while speaking good English. We liked it that much that we went 4 times in the week we were there. It also had a magnificent view of the sea while you ate your food.

04/11/2024: Lieu joli et personnel aimable mais la nourriture est très passable pour le prix payé et on nous a apporté de l'eau qu'à la moitié du plat.

14/09/2024: My experience simply did not match the previous reviews. Indeed it was by far our worst meal in Madeira. There was a cheerful welcome but that was the highlight. The place was quite empty. There was one other couple there who had ordered food. We ordered our meals and drinks. The drinks came quickly but it took an hour+ for food to arrive. Nobody attended our table in that time at all. No food came out for about three quarters of an hour until eventually the couple who were there before us got their meal. A couple who came in after us were asking where their food was. Overall a miserable experience. The food itself was unfortunately also very disappointing. The pizza base wasn’t cooked and was still soggy. Really basic. The burger wasn’t good tasting and I left some of it - I can’t remember when I last didn’t finish a burger. As soon as we had eaten we left. They seemed to know something was wrong and had no interest in asking how the meal was.
