09/11/2024: Genial para un bocado rápido para comer y el personal muy encantador , no comida de 5 estrellas, sino solo para un gran aperitivo en sus viajes , los encontró muy amables y encantados de ayudar

22/07/2024: Encantador café acogedor donde se puede sentar bajo el sol y ver los teleféricos entrar y salir Comida y pastel recién hechos y una amplia gama de bebidas para elegir Personal amable y un pajarito amable que literalmente se sienta a su mesa también

13/05/2025: Pasé a almorzar atraído por el mostrador de la tienda interior, que estaba lleno de pasteles y pasteles muy tentadores. Fue una buena elección, pero un punto estaba atracado porque no había menú en inglés. Sin embargo, la muy servicial y amable Sophie era una estrella y nos ayudó a hacer una selección - una envoltura de pollo y un pastie de queso / tocino con 2 batidos muy agradables. Los precios eran muy razonables.

23/11/2024: Serveuse très sympa, pas trop de choix en parfum, nous avons pris plusieurs parfums, ce qui m'a déçu c'est les parfums avec les fruits je pensais que c'était des sorbets sans poudre de lait enfin ça avait un goût de produit laitier. La fraise et le rhum raisin étaient pas bons. Les parfums que nous avons aimé pistache et passion.

09/02/2025: Abbiamo pranzato in questo cafè dopo la visita al punto panoramico. Hanno una scelta varia fra panini, quiche, toast e insalate. Sopratutto sono buoni i dolci. Prezzi corretti.

30/09/2025: Acho o local muito agradável e com uma vista deslumbrante. Sem dúvida um ótimo sítio para tomar um café/bebida.

23/03/2025: Última vez que ponho os pés neste estabelecimento. A dona do restaurante é de uma imensa falta de educação. Ao ser confrontada com a sua má atitude, responde torto e sem razão, recusou-se a dar o livre de reclamações e no fim, ainda culpa a funcionária sem que esta tenha alguma culpa,

13/03/2025: Ils sont complètement incompétents et désagréables , vous pouvez commander et attendre une heure , ils vous ont oubliés … ils ne s excusent pas Par contre les natifs, eux , sont prestement servis … On a compris que comme touriste “ vous n’êtes pas bienvenus Horrible expérience

29/03/2025: A comida e o espaço são bastante agradáveis, mas o tempo de espera pela refeição foi muito longo e os pedidos não vinham completos. Deixou a desejar.

04/12/2024: Siempre uno de nuestros favoritos en nuestras visitas a Funchal. Parece que cambia de dueño regularmente. Rara vez o nunca nos decepciona. Es el lugar local donde van los lugareños y eso es lo que nos encanta de él. Ligeramente fuera de los caminos trillados y un entorno básico. Tarifa sencilla a un precio excelente.

08/04/2025: Este es un lugar encantador. Es literalmente la antigua panadería de la ciudad. De niño lo recuerdo. Tiene una amplia gama de cosas y buen café también. Solo toma efectivo y esto es una decepción. También tiene WiFi

04/01/2025: Muy buen hotel. Tuvimos habitación con vista al mar. Muy amable personal de recepción, camareros y otro personal en el hotel. Muy buena comida en el restaurante del hotel.

05/11/2024: If you liked the Beerhouse for it's steak sandwich you should definately try out this place. It offers a lot of different variations with and the french fries with oregano as sidedish is so delicious you don't even need ketchup or mayo to enjoy it! And the price for a meal is more than fair for around 7.50€ you get a good portion!

29/10/2024: Very tasty food which was served quickly. Also the portions were more than enough. Altogether the service was very good!

19/06/2025: Si vous avez envie de manger un bon sandwich au steak, généreusement servi, pas trop lourd - de manière à pouvoir marcher le ventre léger dans Funchal - le tout dans un cadre intimiste, au calme, c’est ici qu’il faut venir !

18/06/2024: Muito fraco para não dizer pior. Em uma semana na ilha em família, a pior refeição. Não tinham metade dos pratos da ementa, os que tinham eram fracos e foi das refeições mais caras que pagamos! Uma grande desilusão. Não vale mesmo a pena.

29/05/2025: After a long day of hiking in Madeira, our group of 14 arrived at Restaurant Gale around 6:40 PM, extremely hungry and hopeful for a pleasant dinner. We had previously tried another restaurant that told us dinner would only be served after 7 PM, so we were relieved when Gale confirmed they were already serving dinner. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt odd – only one table was occupied indoors, and although we needed a large outdoor table for all of us, the staff agreed to accommodate us. We were given menus and shortly after informed that certain key dishes, including octopus (which most of us had wanted), were unavailable. Disappointed but famished, we decided to order other items. We were told food would take about 40 minutes because "everything is fresh." While the wait seemed a bit long, we accepted it, assuming at least starters would arrive in the meantime. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The only thing we received in the first 30 minutes was some bread( from our order , not for free :) .Meanwhile, young children's —presumably the owner’s—were crying and screaming incessantly inside and outside , making it impossible to relax. After an hour, no starters, no drinks (other than a small local wine sample), and no sign of our main meals. Still, we remained patient and polite, albeit growing increasingly frustrated and exhausted. At the 2 hour and 40-minute mark, I finally asked about the starters, pointing out that a “starter” should not arrive hours into a meal. Only then did some food begin to appear, but not for everyone. Throughout this entire period, we were the only customers for most of the evening—except for two individuals who came, ordered, ate, and left before we even received our food. The final dishes arrived a shocking 3 hours and 10 minutes after ordering. The quality was appalling: -A seafood rice dish came in a pot of watery liquid, the rice was undercooked, and it was virtually tasteless. -A carbonara was inexplicably served with olives. -Three portions of calamari were ordered, but only two arrived. -Tuna, ordered with potatoes, arrived with rice and beef gravy – an awful mismatch for fish. And the list could continue The worst part? The so-called chef, who turned out to be the owner’s father, eventually came to our table and admitted he was alone in the kitchen because the staff had just left. In fact, we had seen them sitting nearby, smoking – clearly not in a rush to help if was need it . If the kitchen was understaffed, why didn’t anyone tell us before taking our order? Why they have been that greedy just to get money for 14th people but horrible service ? To top off the entire ordeal, despite the disastrous service, excessive wait time, and dreadful food, the owner refused to offer any discount whatsoever. They charged us fully, without a hint of apology or goodwill. This was without a doubt one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had – a complete lack of professionalism, organisation, and basic respect for customers. Avoid this place at all costs. If we could give zero stars, we would. Unfortunately we lost our temper to make some photos /videos
