24/12/2024: We came to the Valley of Nuns for the views, and hoping to grab a bite - not expecting that there is this awesome place serving absolutely delicious food! Also, here is where for the first time we tried fried?baked? chest nuts! Also they have chestnut beer, desserts etc. - all amazing! They were amazingly good, and everybody was shocked that they have never tried something that has this texture and taste - very unusual and good! Especially when dipped in that molasses syrup :) There are beautiful views of the area but the tables outside are limited and the upper deck closed during colder/rougher weather, still pleasant inside. They have a nice and convenient, and FLAT parking lot literally across the restaurant. FANTASTIC PLACE and a must while in the area or in Madeira in general!

23/12/2024: Very nice restaurant with a majority of chesnut based meals on their menu. Our visit happened due to a surprise rain and we appreciated every moment of it. We had a chesnut soup, chesnut cream and roasted chesnuts witha glass of wine, all of them delicious.

08/02/2025: Some fantastic new friends from Madeira took us here because we wanted to go where the locals eat. We weren’t disappointed. Oh my goodness if you are a meat eater, this place is paradise. The Espetadas are amazing with everything cooked over an open wood fire. Friday night and it was packed. Lots of other choices but the whole atmosphere was brilliant. Highly recommend a visit. You may have to wait on a Friday and Sat evening and Sunday lunch time.

15/12/2024: Fica no estreito de câmera de lobos, junto a igreja. Bom serviço e boa comida regional. Espetada regional em pau de louro, bolo de kako, milho frito, batatas fritas caseiras e boa salada. Sempre que me desloco a madeira e paragem obrigatoria.

05/04/2024: Uma espacata deliciosa. A carne de espada é o número um aqui. T-bone também é delicioso. Geralmente, eu recomendo e espero voltar novamente. O serviço também foi muito bom.

04/04/2024: Bom restaurante, boa comida mas o serviço a melhorar...tivemos 5 empregados diferentes a servir a mesa...podia ser sinal de algo bom só que não...vinho veio já a comida estava na mesa, limitaram a levantar o prato sem questionar se estava bom ou mau o jantar... quando foi para pagar até vieram dois recebe!! Sensação que deixam é de despachar...e não é um restaurante propriamente barato para o fazerem...deviam ter mais atenção. De resto, filetes de espada muito bons, bife atum ótimo e espetada tb ótima. Pecou no serviço apenas..

22/12/2024: Esta pizzería rinde homenaje a las raíces italianas con una preparación impecable. La masa es ligera, perfectamente aireada y con ese equilibrio ideal entre crujiente por fuera y suave por dentro.

11/02/2025: Tolles Restaurant, sehr guter Service, schönes Ambiente und sehr gutes Essen. Frische Fische liegen in der Vitrine, die man sich aussuchen kann und die dann zubereitet werden. Preis-Leistung sehr gut.

06/09/2024: Siamo arrivati in questo bar-ristorante verso le 16, per una merenda sostanziosa. Abbiamo preso succo fresco di arancia, caldarroste e tre dolci a base di castagne. Tutto buonissimo. Il posto era abbastanza vuoto a quell'ora, ma ci è sembrato molto turistico. Una cosa che non ci è piaciuta affatto è che, quando si ordinano i dolci dalla vetrina, al bancone vicino alla cassa, non ci sono i prezzi. In due per una merenda molto sostanziosa, che sostituiva il pasto, abbiamo speso 35€. Troppo per una merenda, giusto per un pranzo-brunch

10/07/2024: Posto bello e accogliente con personale veramente gentile. Non bisogna aspettarsi un vero e proprio ristorante ma più un rifugio dove mangiare qualche piatto a base di castagne compresi i dolci, tutto ottimo. Per chi non ama le castagne ci sono anche panini o piatti veloci di altro genere. Collegato allo snack bar anche un piccolo museo gratuito dedicato alle castagne. Assolutamente consigliato.

10/11/2024: I'm never going back, they thought I was a tourist, they came to say that the medium meat is white, as it was! I've never eaten frozen meat on the island like here, so many places on the island, to eat kebabs and I was fooled, but I won't go back!

11/01/2025: We visited twice during our week’s stay and very much enjoyed the flavoursome fish dishes and some local wine. The lovely waitress was exceptional - one of the friendliest people we met in Madeira.

11/01/2025: Man kann hier den für Madeira so spezifischen Degenfisch in verschiedenen Variationen zu sehr günstigen Preisen frsich genießen, denn der Chef selbst fängt ihn. Der Kellner Marco war super freundlich und hilfreich.
