07/10/2024: Ouah ! Un festival pour les yeux et les papilles. Un originalité incroyable. Des serveurs parfaits. Une sommelière excellente, qui parle magnifiquement des vins. Un endroit à recommander.

26/09/2024: We visited Bon Bon with friends September 2024 and it was one of the best dining experiences of my life. We opted for the 9 course meal but probably got to sample 25 individual taste explosions. It is so very obvious that the chef loves creating. This can be tasted as well as seen in the presentation. The food and dessert is a beautiful fusion of land, sea, mountain, wild food and at times Indian, with the Chef paying homage to his Goan and Portuguese heritage. I don't want to give too much away as this is something you need to try for yourself. A great plus for our friends was the availability of wine pairing with a very knowledgeable Sommelier on site. She clearly knew her stuff about the many grape varieties that Portugal has to offer. Very important to me is food presentation and atmosphere. Bon Bon again ticked all the boxes. Although all the wait staff were excellent l wanted to give special mention to the Zimbabwean waiter who spoke about each dish with confidence, ready to answer any questions. If l could recommend one area for development is that my expectation for such a high end place would be to have a selection of craft alcohol free beers available instead of the same option everyone else has, plus a wider selection tasty and food pairing other alcohol free options to choose from. But no doubt we would all like to return to see what they have on their next menu that changes once a term. They absolutely deserve the 9 years in a row Michelin star.

12/09/2024: Always a winner - great food, great service, great wine and a great location. The first on our list whenever we come to the Algarve!

11/09/2024: Two of us had a great meal here on a Tuesday evening in September. We were sat outside on the terrace, which has great views, but does mean there’s an evening breeze so we were glad of the blankets the staff provided. The villa owners where we were staying had recommended O Algar as they have been coming for many years and it was clear that many of the diners were the same - we overheard one saying she had first visited in the 1990’s. Our main were the sole and prawn kebabs - both very good, with the waiter (one of the two sons of the owners) expertly filleting the sole for me. As per our hosts, we had a bottle of white Cartuxa wine - Chablis-like and a great match. Reservations seemed a must - several parties were turned away whilst we were there. Prawn cocktail starter was trip back to the Berni Inns of my youth, but the prawns were three times the size and considerably fresher. A number of diners had clearly booked for repeat visits and we could understand why. Service was very good and friendly - we overheard one of the sons describing his time in Bristol and London studying, which helped explain the very fluent English.

31/10/2024: We had a nice evening here during our holiday and the food and service were decent. As far as curries go in a European holiday resort I haven’t had much better but to be honest if you have good curry houses around you like we do in Bedford the food here is average at best. It’s hard to understand how this place is so highly ranked in the area 10/149 and by comparison we had exceptional meals and service at a place ranked 100/149 but I guess the age of the digital footprint means mediocrity can be celebrated and the rustic and traditional gems can get left behind.

18/09/2024: Le meilleur resto qu’on ait fait au Portugal ! Un rapport qualité prix imbattable le plat autour de 20€ avec la boisson et le dessert compris ! L’endroit est cosy et le serveur d’un calme très agréable ! Quelques tables et seulement quelques plats… tout est fait maison! On recommande +++

13/09/2024: We were a group of friends (10 in tal) and booked to have dinner in the outside courtyard with cover. The menu offered a wide choice of meats and fish with some unusual options, that were amazing eg swordfish. The food was excellent as was the service and attention of the owner and staff. We are here for a few more days and will return again before we leave. Highly recommended for quality of food, attentive service and reasonable prices.

09/10/2024: From start to finish this meal was fantastic! We've been in Portugal 3 weeks and this was by far the best meal we've had - service was amazing; the food was delicious ( pork cheeks) and the presentation was first class; and the entire restaurant is clean, well run and efficient!! Don't hesitate to choose this Restaurant!!

04/10/2024: Adoramos o ambiente que é bem arejado, os funcionários muito educados e atenciosos e a comida muito boa. Almoçamos duas vezes neste restaurante e adoramos, preços bons também.

04/04/2024: Gostei bastante, mas pode ser barulhento quando ocupado e, portanto, a conversa pode ser difícil. Não tenho certeza sobre outra visita. Banheiro masculino pequeno.

03/04/2024: A comida era muito boa, pedimos três menus. O atendimento foi rápido e a atenção dos garçons foi primorosa, principalmente da Ruth, que se preocupou com meus cachorros. Ele nos trouxe água para eles e algumas barras. Obrigado Rute.

10/10/2024: Sehr angenehmer Abend. Leckeres Essen mit einem freundlichen und aufmerksamen Service. Vorspeise und Hauptgang (Nudeln und Burger) waren sehr lecker. Gerne wieder.

24/09/2024: This was my sister’s choice of venue for our penultimate night on holiday in Portugal. I read some of the reviews and was a little concerned that some people had criticised the service - I get very impatient if I have to wait ages to be served . However she assured me she goes every year and highly recommended it. The setting is beautiful - it overlooks the beach . The sunset was spectacular. The waiter was attentive and we ordered quickly . We both had cocktails and both chose our meal from the Japanese part of the menu . I can honestly say my main ( steak bau bun with crispy tempura potato and my salmon poke bowl) was absolutely delicious. The bau bun was one of the best things I have ever eaten and the poke bowl was fresh, tangy and totally divine . Service was quick but we were never rushed. We both had dessert - I had the brownie served with a really moreish nutty dairy ice cream and my sister had the banoffee which is served like a sundae with layers of fresh banana, caramel, cream and crunchy biscuit which she really enjoyed. We finished with another cocktail each - pina colada which while not as creamy as expected was certainly refreshing . I loved everything about the place - the setting, the ambience, the food and the drink. Service was faultless . I honestly would give this place 5* and can’t wait to return when I’m next in Portugal. It was a fabulous experience.

20/10/2024: Out walking from Ferriguda to Carveiro & stumbled across this fab restaurant.Couldn’t believe the Value .I had the Prawns big fat juicy ones with potato & salad half liter of wine ,water ,chocolate cake & coffee all for €15 .Unbelievable and all served with a smile 😀

02/10/2024: Exelente qualidade ao melhor preço Com tudo incluído paguei 17 Euros por entrada: pão manteigas e azeitonas, mais uma dose de lingueiráo, prato principal costeleta de vitela, com meio litro de vinho, sobremesa doce e café. Melhor no Algarve é impossível

03/10/2024: Absolutely lovely Indian restaurant in the main square of Ferragudo. Super friendly staff and excellent value for money. We've been back from our holiday a couple of months now and are still reminiscing about our meals there !!!!

15/09/2024: Very slow service we waited ages to be seated then again to be served then again ages for it to arrive then again at the till to pay feeling like your just being ignored when lady finally gave me the bill she walked off to do something else so i again had to wait for someone else to take my money

12/09/2024: Ate here several times. The food is simple but very tasty. The service can be on the relaxed side but never anything other than very pleasant. The take-away sandwiches are also very good and make a welcome change if you have over indulged in hotel/restaurant food. Recommended 100%.
