No centro do Funchal, fala inglês Produtos locais de qualidade, preço razoável, serviço agradável e sorridente, diferente da maioria dos moradores da ilha! Preferido para amêijoas e polvos.

O padrão alimentar aqui é muito alto. É feito em tapas grandes, então você não precisa de muitos pratos. Duas redes principais e dois lados estão quase certos. A barriga de atum estava deliciosa, assim como o polvo e o porco com amêijoas. As batatas fritas têm alho picado e orégano por cima, o que as torna algo especial! A carta de vinhos é boa e o pessoal de serviço é excelente. Eu recomendo tentar este lugar.

We've been visiting Taberna Madeira for a number of years each time we visit Funchal, and it never disappoints. There's a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant with service to match. The menu is a mix of large and small plates so it's easy to pick a few to share. We were impressed when our waiter told us to stop when we were in danger of over ordering. Everything we had was excellent, but stand out dishes were the chopped beef & mushroom and the tempura scabbard fish.

Depois de entrar no restaurante, ser extremamente bem recebido, já quase na hora do fecho, e depois eu e os meus dois amigos sermos sugeridos por quais pratos escolher, tenho a dizer que foi um dos melhores jantares que já tive na ilha!! Muito obrigado e contem comigo sempre que cá voltar!

Friendly welcome, helpful advice on the menu - we chose 2 “portions” (tuna with peppers, and beef with mushrooms & fries) plus 2 sides (sweet potato and vegetables). We also each had a glass of very acceptable red wine, and they brought us bread and olives to nibble while we waited for our food. The tuna was delicious, perfectly cooked, as was the beef. We particularly enjoyed the sweet potato which was mashed with shredded dark green cabbage. The vegetables were cabbage and carrots which we were less keen on, and we probably could have done without as there was more that enough food for the two of us (we aren’t big eaters). We had booked for 6.30 and there were already a few occupied tables, and it quickly became busy after 7, which gave the restaurant a great atmosphere. I would recommend it, although beware! They don’t take credit cards. The bill was extremely reasonable however, so it didn’t deplete our cash resources too much.
