One of our favourite restaurants and tonight was no exception. Lovely food and very friendly service.

Christmas Eve gala dinner Quality food fantastic service food and drink with a set meal is 100% worth it..I recommend people try it out.

We were accustomed to the high standards Mr Rui and his daughter set so sorry that the standards had slipped on the food front. The Wine was pleasant, the scallops were served with bitter lemon juice, not a sauce and were very small. The fillet of beef was not steak and extremely tasteless, as were the blobs surrounding it and the vegetables very ordinary. The trilogy of deserts a pre prepared glass of creaminess slightly flavoured of the mentioned deserts, creme brûlée, tiramaso etc, not actual portions of the desert was extremely disappointing. Not the fine dining image of Goya we had hoped for. Ok but nothing more for the food, plenty of wine on offer on the concept menu at about 53 euros. We won’t be back.

What a fantastic meal! We had a set meal which included several courses and wine pairing. The food was delicious and really well prepared and the atmosphere was lovely. As were the owners. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

20/10/2024: Le restaurant reflète parfaitement sa devise : 'Le luxe, c'est de se faire plaisir avec des choses simples'. Chaque plat est préparé minute avec des produits frais, et la présentation dans une vaisselle soignée ajoute une touche élégante. Le personnel est d'une grande amabilité, ce qui rend l'expérience encore plus agréable. Le rapport qualité-prix est excellent, et la magnifique fresque en salle ajoute un charme unique à l'endroit. Pour couronner le tout, la terrasse offre une vue splendide sur les majestueux jacarandas aux teintes bleutées. Un endroit à découvrir sans hésitation !
13/10/2024: Philippe’s standards have not dropped over the years. Right next to the road but the quality of the food and service more than makes up for it. The soups are delicious as are the mains. I was warned by Wahab, the lovely waiter, that the stir fry would be salty and it was but not excessively so. The salmon salad was enormous and a doggie bag was requested and provided. Enjoy the ice cream made in front of you. One of our ‘go to’ places at least once every week while in Madeira. You won’t be disappointed.

06/10/2024: Excelente calidad alimentaria, bebidas y servicio y todo por 55€ cada uno. Valor increíble. Nuestra tercera visita y nunca decepciona. La mejor experiencia de cena en Madeira.
21/09/2024: Mais que s'est il passė les amis ? 19h30, j'arrive dans un restaurant vide, j'ai beau chercher, terrasse, salle, nous ne sommes que deux ! Là, il y a un problème et je comprends : Nous ne sommes plus chez Cris's, du moins pas celui que j'ai connu ( Voir mon commentaire de 2017 ). Service aimable, carte pouvant faire penser au passé, comme le verre de bienvenu mais la folie du menu tout inclu à disparue...Entrées médiocres, plats corrects, le Wellington était dans la moyenne bien que sans duxelle. On peut trouver bien mieux ailleurs. Tout fout le camp les amis et n'est pas Cris's qui veut.
