Die Terrasse direkt am alten Fort ist klar das Highlight von diesem Lokal. Das Essen kam leider sehr durchschnittlich daher: Der Degenfisch für 20,- Euro waren 2 kleine Röllchen umwickelt mit salzigem Bacon. Dieser Salzgeschmack hat allen anderen Geschmack völlig übertönt. Da halfen ein paar Stückchen Kartoffeln auch nicht weiter. Die Fischauswahl für 25,— Euro bestand aus ein paar Fischsstücken mit ein paar Shrimps. Auch recht fade und trocken. Fazit: Es gibt einige wesentlich bessere Lokale in Funchal.

We called in for our annual lunch at this restaurant and it never disappoints Horacio Alex and Natalie ensure that everything is perfect for your visit There is a lovely menu and I recommend the avocado prawn and mango cocktail and the fillet steak 🥩 They make a very mean and tonic and there is an excellent wine list Thank you very much indeed and we look forward to our next visit

10/10/2024: Returning again with a warm welcome. Lovely suitable table which we had booked in person previously. Thank you. The Seafood Cream soup excellent and we had the nights ‘Special’ Amberjack fish. Simply grilled with a lavish variety of vegetables and salad with excellent friendly service. ‘Cracking’ bottle of House so a very enjoyable evening thank you again.
05/10/2024: What a terrific place, the staff and the owner are completely hands on making our dinner an experience. The steak was some of the best in the North Atlantic and the seafood was spot on! No bourbon at the bar but hey, we are in Madeira.

10/09/2024: Sehr schönes Restaurant mit bodenständiger regionaler Küche, hebt sich schon durch die unaufdringliche Ansprache der professionellen und freundlichen Bedienung von den umgebenden Lokalitäten ab. Wir haben auf Empfehlung des Kellners eine Kombination von Degenfisch mit Banane und Passionsfrucht gegessen und es nicht bereut. Vorab Brot mit Knoblauchbutter, dazu Coral (gibt es auch ohne Alkohol) - alles in allem ein sehr schönes Essen zu einem guten Preis.
06/09/2024: Antes tinha pão quentinho com cream cheese e manteiga de ervas 😍Comida super deliciosa, atendimento bacana, o espeto de filé/loureiro estava excelente! O especial do dia com 3 tipos de peixe também estava muito saboroso. Recomendação absoluta. Poncha de maracujá e original também ficaram uma delícia.
