07/12/2024: The concept meal is now €64.95, more than any of the others we use in Funchal. There is no amuse bouche nor sorbet between courses. The starters were lacking in flavour, even requiring salt on my wife’s prawn and avocado. The beef wellingtons were not rare but medium rare. The mushroom duxelles were good though. The crème brûlée was over cooked and my pannacotta was not silky smooth but grainy in texture. The wine was good but not free flowing until we were ready to leave. A disappointing meal for my birthday. It’s a shame because we have been coming to this restaurant in all its varying forms for over 20 years. I’m sure a lot of people have had excellent food and service here but not us, this time.
