Ceia em Lisboa

Fine dinning that was more ‘experimental’ than fine. There was no sign outside for the restaurant. It was ‘Private dinning’ (as long as ‘private’ means all the other guests seated at the same table as you) We had to wait until the last guest arrived to start. It was a four hour endurance experience. The chefs were friendly and warm. The room was elegant and inviting. We chose the non-alcoholic ‘symbiotic’ drink pairing, which was a list of 10 types of mostly ‘Kombucha’ (mostly undrinkable). Food was 10 very small courses of delicate & well presented creations, the taste was hit and miss. For the high price they jumped over a low bar. We left feeling agitated, underfed and underwhelmed.

An Experience. Inventive ideas and bold flavors. Beautiful plates- attractive team and thorough explanations by all involved. Hostess was charming. Wines were paired thoughtfully. Company was diverse and interesting. Great find, if you can get a booking. 😃
