We had a tour of Bland's Madeira winery and in the complex was this small and quaint restaurant. Looking at the menu we decided to book, to be welcomes by Nelio the owner/manager. He also was front of house when we went and we enjoyed the tasting menu paired with Madeira Wines - the sauteed squid was one of the best squid meal I have had, so tasty. The whole experience was great value for money.

13/09/2024: A lovely chatty chap stands outside trying to tempt you in and after passing a couple of times we were tempted! We ordered the mixed meat paella and knowing that it would take a while to prepare we ordered the bread to tide us over. It was a large portion and came with complimentary olives. The paella was a large portion and while the chicken was fine both the pork and rabbit were very chewy and one piece of rabbit was basically a backbone so not great. The waiting staff were good and it's a nice place.
06/09/2024: Recently came to this restaurant as it was recommended by another restaurant to try Madeiran food. Food was fresh and tasted very good. Service was great by the staff members. Facilities were clean, well decorated and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Restaurante A Cuba

10/09/2024: Great food, lovely quiet and relaxed setting and wonderful service. This all made for a very enjoyable evening meal. The waiter was particularly nice and interesting.
29/05/2024: Came across this restaurant as we bimbled around Funchal. Nice location, very well done out inside and out. I had a pork in garlic and wine sauce sandwich (traditional Madeiran cob) which was excellent, not dry or chewy. Wife had omelette . I would definitely recommend if you find yourself passing.
