21/04/2025: Totally by chance, we met the owner of Restaurante O Forno while having dinner at a lrestaurant for locals in Evora. Since we were driving to Elvas the next day, Antonio Justo suggested we might enjoy taking an alternative route to pass through Pavia and stop for lunch at his place. It seemed like a fun opportunity to explore more of the area and even stopped to see the Castle of Arraiolos and village of rugs along the way. Restaurante O Forno was an absolutely amazing off-the-grid find. Our meal consisted of the local Partridge and Lamb dishes, together with accompaniments and was exquisite. However, the traditional Portuguese cozinha (cuisine) was not an inexpensive date. Although our luncheon excursion was just over 85 euro, we will never regret either the cost or having made the detour.
