03/12/2024: The only gluten free pizza in the area which was what my wife sought. Pizza was excellent. Unfortunately, it could not be served in the main restaurant which I had booked. So I had little choice but pizza also.
Waitresses excellent. Guy leaning behind the bar, with scruffy t shirt and on his phone non stop, he might have owned the place. Another guy with tracksuit bottoms runs outside to get cheese.
The manager, white shirt and tie, was manic, freaking out and putting the lovely Waitresses under all kinds of pressure.
Altogether an interesting encounter, but please don't compare it to GOYA as some have done. Not on the same planet.
25/11/2024: Wir haben hier einmal Pizza geholt. Die Pizza war gut und der Preis ok. Alleinig die Wartezeit war sehr lang. Allerdings war das Restaurant auch voll.

12/10/2024: Bonne pâte à pizza bien que la dose des ingrédients sur celle-ci reste à revoir. Restaurant spacieux. Service sympathique mais temps d’attente beaucoup trop long. Ils font passer les livraisons avant les clients assis… dommage.
16/09/2024: Frequentavo la pizzeria Portobello ed era ottima in tutto solo i locali un pà angusti con il trasferimento nei nuovi locali oggi LUME' ho trovato il massimo del meglio che uno si può aspettare, ottima sistemazione, gentilezza, ottimo cibo, ottimo prezzo.

16/11/2024: Always a lovely welcome and great service. Never had a bad dish. The orange and duck risotto, chicken cannelloni, vegetable lasagne are all delicious. Salads, pizza are great too. Everything is cooked to order and always very tasty. Great value for money.
03/11/2024: Passed by many times , but it is was open people inside and we gave it a go. So pleased we did. Charming young female waitresses eager to help. Yes it's small and tables close together but we were there to eat and were not disappointed. I don't usually eat piazza, too stodgy too heavy. But converted after eating half my husband's generous portion with a lovely Caprese salad. We will return.

20/11/2024: We did the take-out from this place in Nov 2024 — we ordered a Vegetarian Pizza and it was really good. The order was ready in 10 min and the place looked good. The packing was neatly done.
17/11/2024: Visited this restaurant wife my wife having seen good reviews and were not disappointed.
Amazing generous portions, friendly staff, my seafood pasta dish was as good as I've ever had😀 nice view over the if you sit outside.
Highly reccomend this eatery⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pizzeria Martucci

11/09/2024: Have often been in the Martucci restaurant next door but thought we would try the pizzeria. Food was excellent, reasonably priced and service was first class. The restaurant was very busy, but not overcrowded, which is usually a good sign. Will definitely return.
29/07/2024: We arrived slightly earlier than our booked time and were taken to our table straight away. We were greeted with a friendly smile by our first waiter.
We looked at the menu and ordered drinks within 5 minutes of sitting down. My other half is celiac and one of the reasons for our visit is that they accommodate GF, offering GF pizza.
We ordered our meals and asked for a few tweaks to be made, which they were happy to facilitate.
Food arrived promptly and was presented very well. We had a starter, main and a bottle of Prosecco. We were stuffed by the end and couldn’t manage a dessert but we opted for coffee.
We could not fault the food or service, we had a wonderful evening. We will be retuning to dine again.

04/10/2024: We were lucky to get a table here with no reservation - very busy place! We ordered a bottle of the Alentejo Red, bruschetta with tomatoes and the burrata salad to start - all very lovely. Mains Were the cacio e pepe and the l’amatriciana, again both delicious. Very laid back vibe. Outside tables benefit from the live music played further up the street, made it feel extra special.
29/09/2024: Na aankomst in ons hotel Porto Mare per ongeluk op dit restaurant gestuit. Dit bleek een schot in de rooste wezen na een lange dag van reizen. Super stijlvol en netjes, de old fasion en sangria waren heerlijk en de burrata met truffel en tamaat met olijf verrukkelijk. Al met al een heerlijk begin, korting via het hotel🙏🏽

04/04/2024: A pizza aqui é tão boa que tivemos que voltar alguns dias depois. Na segunda visita pedi o bife que vem cru na pedra quente, cozinhando na mesa - um excelente pedaço de carne, macio e suculento. A atmosfera é excelente, num local relativamente tranquilo junto à pequena igreja ou capela, a poucos passos da Fortaleza Amarela. Os servidores são a quantidade certa de curiosos. Altamente recomendado!

02/12/2024: Numa rua com trânsito aceitável ( começa a ser dificil andar de carro nas ruas do Funchal) fui com alfuns familiares jantar neste restaurante.O forte da ementa são as pizas.Foram pedidas 4 e 1 prato de ravioli de carne. A piza que comi foi a Calzone.Das restante provei um bocadinho.Todas estavam muito bem confeccionadas e todos os participantes no jantar sairam satisfeitos.
10/11/2024: La comida era deliciosa y a un precio razonable. La pasta parecía estar fresca (no seca) y el camarero, Dios lo bendiga, me sirvió un Pepsi helado CON un vaso de hielo! El ambiente es genial también, y la ubicación es conveniente. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar.

03/10/2024: Lovely food , we both had pizza and they were both very nice at a sensible price , the service was efficient but a little unfriendly no smiles just served the food and took the orders whereas usually when you dine at a restaurant they make polite conversation which makes you feel welcome and more inclined to visit again during your holiday . The only time I’ve dined out and been brought the bill without asking for it . Overall nice food but not tempted to do a second visit
01/10/2024: My family and I had desserts here four out of the seven days we were in Madeira. Each visit was fantastic, and the staff were great

13/09/2024: Experiência terrível !! Pedimos uma pizza grande para levar e como se consegue ver na imagem a pizza era super pequena e mal recheada.No ato de pagamento não nos deram o recibo e pagamos um preço.
Posto isto, não recomendo visto que pagamos um preço nada adequado para o que foi servido.
17/07/2024: Ótima pizza, comi a Prosciutto e estava maravilhosa! Um ótimo atendimento também, pessoas muito simpáticas e atenciosas! Recomendamos muito! Vale a pena visitar!

30/10/2024: The Golden gate is not golden anymore. We have been coming for 22 years and it used to be a key place to visit in Madeira. Now the service is slow, the white canopies are very dirty, the menus are sellotaped together and food is mediocre It has lost its sparkle and you can see it by how quiet it now is. Apple strudel is still fantastic
29/10/2024: We only called in for drinks after visiting the old town. Service was a little slow but I think that was due to us sitting on the side of the cafe. When we were served the staff were pleasant and we enjoyed sitting in the sun with our drinks, we were also fortunate to have a very good busker giving us entertainment. We would certainly return.

17/03/2024: Sinceramente,já tinha notado que já não era igual....hoje pedi uma pizza que foi a pior da minha vida!!! Sendo a primeira pizzaria na Madeira,já deveriam ter experiência!Por favor tomem nota,por que de facto ,no passado foi a melhor!
