15/10/2024: Super Essen 🥰 wer auf traditionelle Portugiesische Küche steht ist hier total richtig. Frischer Fisch und nichts aus der Tüte. Viel besser als das ganze Touri Essen drum rum. Wir haben uns sooo wohl gefühlt. Soul food from Portugal. Chef und Bedienung super nett. Man sollte vorher aber einen Tisch reservieren.

13/10/2024: This is our second visit in 2 days and what can I say it gets better each time. This time we ask the ever so helpful staff for recommendations and they were very informative and helpful and helpful choice another outstanding meal. Great tradition food, amazing atmosphere, helpful!friendly staff and all within a reasonable budget. Portions were generous and food cooked to perfection. I would not hesitate to return. Value for money with 3 courses and wine for just over €50

04/09/2024: Este restaurante é fenomenal, cheio de gente , ate cria se fila. É muito bom , para se comer peixe. O robalo grelhado tinha bom aspecto, as sardinhas idem aspas, eu comi bacalhau desfiado com batata, gostei imenso.

29/08/2024: Há 20 anos que frequento esta pcasa. Eu e a minha família. Era ponto certo de encontro todos os anos. Este ano voltámos, como sempre. Notamos imensa diferença e só depois percebemos que a mudança se devia à troca de gerência. Lamentável. Deixou de ter mesas corridas (que eram identidade do espaço). Um lugar que conservava o típico e tradicional decidiu abrir um canto fancy para Gins etc com música que destoa completamente do ambiente do resto do espaço… para além disto, as batatas fritas, que era mm estupendas, perderam muita qualidade e as doses estão francamente mais ferradas. Zero a impatia no atendimento. As filas intermináveis de outrora, nem as vimos. Uma desilusão.

24/09/2024: This is a traditional Portuguese restaurant serving traditional foods. It's my first visit and my wife's 2nd (or 3rd), so she insisted we visit claiming it's very good. We have different tastes. I wasn't wowed by the food but will take some inspiration from the hot cheese starter. It was good. I'd like to get some of those earthenware pots to try this at home It'll be so easy to make. The main course I had on the other hand was a real disappointment and showed me why I can despise Portuguese foods so much. I had wild boar in a pot. A slow cooked stew, that I'd hoped it replicated a fantastic dish I once had in Alentejo some years back. Sadly, it was dreadful. For some bizarre reason the chef decided fresh mint was a great addition to this dish. It wasn't and it killed the dish. The sauce was wet and overpowering with this herb. Nothing like what I had expected. This is typical of the inconsistencies of Portuguese home cooking in places like this. I have a discerning palate. French descendant and keen cook. I can't speak for my wife, but there are better places to visit than here and I was surprised by the great reviews this place had. Food is subjective I guess.

26/08/2024: Nos dijeron que era uno de los mejores sitios para comer marisco fresco y la verdad es que nos encantó. Tomamos la parrillada de marisco y todo estaba delicioso. Añadimos también ostras y un acierto, de las mejores que habíamos comido nunca. El precio para la calidad que tiene, está muy bien también. Justo en frente del restaurante hay un parking de tierra muy grande para poder aparcar bien

19/09/2024: Muy buen sitio para comerte un buen arroz de marisco en un restaurante local y siempre hasta los topes. Mejor reservar. Pedimos un arroz y una açorda de marisco ... y nos pasamos. Éramos 2 y salimos rodando de la inmensidad de los platos. Recomendamos un entrante y un plato para compartir.

06/09/2024: Após uma semana a tentar ligar para o restaurante, sem ninguém atender...Dirigi-me ao restaurante pelas 12h15...abordei um funcionário sobre disponibilidade de mesa para duas pessoas e bruscamente respondeu que era por ordem de chegada. Dirigi-me então à entrada para poder falar com quem supostamente ordenava as chegadas. Ao chegar aparece um senhor que me pergunta quantas pessoas, e disse que demorava 2 horas, perguntei a sorrir se estava a brincar ou se era mesmo assim. Ao que o senhor ao responder foi rude e mal educado. Pode ser um restaurante com qualidade, sinceramente fico sem saber...mas o princípio de todos será atender bem e com educação...nunca voltarei a tentar...pelo sucedido não recomendo.

05/09/2024: Sempre comi bem neste restaurante, mas hoje, esgotei a minha paciência, mais de 3 horas a espera e nada. Ou arranjam um sistema de senhas, para ser justo e dividirem os grupos conforme as mesas disponíveis ou continuam a passar grupos pequenos à frente de grupos maiores. Hoje tinha um grupo de 9, podiam ter dividido 5 numa mesa e 4 em outra e não, passaram a frente grupos mais pequenos. Existem pessoas idosas, crianças , bebés ao calor à espera. Deviam dar mais valor aos clientes, que são o ganha pau deste estabelecimento . Falta muita organização

17/09/2024: Peixe excelente, serviço de bom nível, preço justo. Não é necessário escrever muito mais para exprimir a impressão agradável que o restaurante nos deixou.

Além disso, o atendimento foi muito bom, estavam interessadas nos detalhes e abertas para ajudar no que você precisasse. Com certeza voltarei

19/10/2024: Wir waren vor vier Tagen dort und werden das Gefühl nicht los, das der Inhaber gewechselt hat. Kritik ist nicht gewünscht. Das Gaspacho mit Burrata war bestückt mit einem eher billigen Mozzarella anstelle der Burrata. Beim Nachtisch „Spongecake“ was eigentlich ein Bisquit ist, handelte es sich um eine Creme/Pudding. Der Chefkellner konnte mit dieser Kritik überhaupt nicht umgehen, für ihn sei das genau ein Spongescake, eine erwartete Beratung zum Wein gab es auch nicht. Glas 8 Euro schon heftig zu dem wie wir das Alma Lusa eigentlich kannten. Zu teuer für unprofessionelle Bedienung und Schlechtem Umgang mit Kritik

15/10/2024: Niet in het oude centrum, maar wel helemaal vol. Heerlijk gegeten, goed geholpen bij wijnkeuze. Een gezellige zaak, waar ook veel bewoners komen.

09/10/2024: The view is amazing, and the staff were very welcoming, but most of the food was poor. Way too much salt, boring taste, and the side dishes were rasped carrots. The starter with garlic shrimps was tasteful, and the spaghetti with shrimp was also okey. The other fish dishes were not good, nether was the vegetarian option with the stuffed zucchini (which was filled with corn and chickpeas). Wound not recommend this place for eating.

17/10/2024: Went here after reading great reviews, we had steak on stone and Chicken Piri piri , both excellent, we enjoyed a complimentary starter and a good house wine, great staff! Good value for money, here another 3 weeks and we will return

05/10/2024: So, just to be clear, I'll state this up front; hands down, the best fish I have ever eaten in an Algarvian restaurant. Ever. So much so, I went back the following night and did it all again. The restaurant is owned by the Portuguese chef and his English wife. This is a chef who really knows what he's doing and buys fresh from the fish market in nearby Portimão daily. Fish is sold by the kilo and each plate is accompanied by vegetables or salad. However, it does mean that one fish is often too much for one person so if you want to experience the best fish, it might be wise to agree on which fish you'd agree to share as he'll only cook a whole fish, not half of one as that could compromise the natural flavours. I was solo, so the only complete fish I could have was Linguado (lemon sole) but I am glad I did because I'd never tasted fish so good. An indication of price by the kilo is Sea Bass and Sea Bream around €55 per kilo and Lemon Sole at €65 per kilo. My fish weighed in at €35 and that was more than enough for one person. I also had home-made vegetable soup to start and an Algarvian delicacy, Carob, Almond and Fig tart to finish, along with a medronho and a expresso coffee. To accompany the fish I had a couple of glasses of the restaurant's own-label house white wine. The bill came to €71 which, considering the outstanding fare, I thought was reasonable. Service is polite and friendly but not in-your-face, which is thoughtful. One thing I noticed was how quickly the restaurant filled up after evening opening - and stayed full almost the whole night. The head waiter was turning away people without a booking and from what I saw over two consecutive nights, booking in advance is essential. It's not a big place; it'll seat around 30 people max. I've raved on about fish here, but meat and vegetarian dishes are also available and they also have a lunch menu. The only problem you could possibly have with this restaurant is being able to get an evening reservation for exactly when you want it.

03/10/2024: For my husband and I this is one of the best restaurants in Ferragudo. We try and visit at least twice during our holiday to Ferragudo, our 8th time. They have a good varied menu, but we like the section where they bring you the very fresh fish on a platter to choose from, Seabsss, Bream, Snapper, Turbot etc. they weigh your choice of fish and tell you the cost, if you are happy with that then it is bbq grilled to perfection. It is truly delicious. They also have a good dessert selection too. Great service and very friendly. You have got to go there 5*
