26/05/2025: The food and drinks were very good. However, I am removing a star because when the bill came, the waiter said they put on an optional tip that we could remove if we wanted, all the while he's standing there looking at me. That was uncomfortable, so I agreed to pay it even though I wanted it removed. The pricing on the menus in restaurants in Europe is (or should be) inclusive. This place is not inexpensive, so the cost of the items listed on the menu more than covered the service. I did not appreciate the "optional" tip being added onto the final bill.

26/05/2025: Had the most wonderful breakfast during our fabulous stay at Hotel Alfama. Lucas and his colleague were so sweet and attentive. All of the fresh food was delicious and cappuccinos amazing.
