We came here for lunch based on good online reviews and our hotel recommendation. Plus, we love Middle Eastern food. We’ve enjoyed it all over the world, including Egypt, Jordan, Istanbul, New York City, and other European cities and had high hopes for this restaurant. Unfortunately our expectations were not met.
When we entered the restaurant around 2:15 pm, we were ignored. Finally the bartender noticed us and asked if we had a reservation. We said no. He didn’t seem happy with us but we were seated. We ordered baba ganouj which we enjoyed. It is creamy and smoky, nicely seasoned and topped with pomegranate seeds.
We shared the mix grill for two people with sides of salad and “Lebanese bread” which was all very disappointing. The entree was not portioned for two people and it included several pieces of inedible fat (see photo). The bread was the same cold commercial made pita bread served with the baba ganouj, obviously not made in house. The service was inattentive and we had to ask for the bill twice.
Bonita decoración y comida muy auténtica (el chef es palestino). Hummus, arayes, moutabbal, falafel, etc., como en Jerusalén y Beirut, sin duda volverán.
