Restaurante Miradouro em Câmara de Lobos

HPB recommended this place so we were looking forward to a good meal. The pick up duly arrived and we were given a table by the window. The views were amazing and the service was good. But that’s where it stops. We had a prawn cocktail and an octopus salad in a vinaigrette for starters. It’s hard to describe how awful the prawn cocktail was. The texture and taste of the prawns was all wrong and I can only think they were dried and rehydrated. There was simply no taste and the sauce was bland. The octopus was better but not much. Neither of us finished our starters. For the main course I had the local fish which was ok and my partner had chicken skewer - also passable. Deserts are from the equivalent of Walls ice cream menu and you chose what you want. It arrives STILL IN ITS PLASTIC WRAPPER on the plate. All in all a totally underwhelming meal and you have to wonder why HPB recommends this place.
