Something for connoisseurs and admirers of fine cuisine. Obviously Mediterranean and and with a lot of fresh raw fish, but far away from the standard dishes. A short menu but with well selected dishes: a lot of raw fish, leading to a superb steak. We decided to order basically everything and to share amongst 3 of us. The great food comes with exceptional service - also the chef stopped over at the table: we wish her all the best future success. We will stopover again at our next Lissabon visit.

Wonderful selection of dishes and we shared in order to try more! E we drank several wines by the glass and enjoyed trio of pates followed by every starter and then a shared steak. Yummy! Should the chocolate dessert too.

Bairrices - Tapas

06/11/2024: Nous avons vécu un séjour très agréable sur Lisbonne. Chaque jour a été un florilège de découvertes que se soit touristiques ou gustatives. Mais l’expérience du « Bairrices » aura été, selon nous, la meilleure façon de clôturer notre séjour dans « la ville au 7 collines ». En effet ce restaurant propose aux épicuriens en quêtes de saveurs de découvrir pas moins de 22 plats traditionnels portugais. Nous profitons de cet avis pour remercier le Patron du Bairrices qui parlent plusieurs langues dont le Francais. Avenant et généreux il a su glorifier la Cuisine Portugaise le temps de notre dernière soirée.
28/09/2024: Situé dans une cours intérieure, ce restaurant de spécialités portugaises propose un menu unique à 25 euros avec multitudes de petits plats expliqués par le patron (qui parle français), au final un repas très copieux.

Restaurante Laurentina o Rei do Bacalhau

06/10/2024: The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. However, the service was not great! In our area there was only one server who was run off his feet whilst several others were standing around chatting. Our empty plates were not cleared away for quite a long time and it took more time before we were able to order dessert. We could have finished our meal much earlier and the other guests who were waiting could have been seated. Not really efficient for a restaurant of that standard.
30/09/2024: Choose the outdoor tables in the quasi-park between the two streets. Service was prompt, prices were good. We all ordered various treatments of cod – the national dish of Portugal – and were disappointed. Not with the chef or the presentation, rather that salted cod from Denmark and Iceland is the national dish. You should try Bacalhau once (and only once) in Portugal and wonder why, with over 1,000 miles of coastline, the Portuguese like this dish.
