Restaurante Cervejaria Donatello em Ponta Delgada

12/08/2024: We were late arriving into town and had already been rejected from another restaurant because they were closing their lunch service. Honestly, I didn't have high hopes, but we have a teenaged boy and were all needing to eat. So, I thought, we'll just get something simple. A basically, that's what happened - we ordered and what came to the table were plates of simple food, with delicious flavours - a chicken burger that had simply great tasting chicken, a simple salad with a gorgeous local soft cheese similar to ricotta but with herbs, and a veal steak swimming in a light but perfect gravy, and an unexpected winner - cod pasty's served with boiled potatoes, carrots and cabbage. Everything was plain and simple - but perfectly so. I was so impressed. Our server apologised for the slow service. Even here in the Azores, they are struggling with staff shortages. But she was super sweet - teased a smile out of our boy, brought us very quickly, the cold beer we sorely needed. What a star actually! We found out later that 2 people were out, and she was by herself trying to cover the whole lunch shift. As this place is on the corner near the church, I can imagine it gets very busy. There was a steady stream of locals coming in and out, and most of the tables on the terrace were taken by tourists like us.

16/07/2024: We had Breakfast here and the Staff was superfriendly, the Food was delicious and the price was superb! I am definitely coming back!
