A estrela da Casa o Bacalhau , definhou , fino , sem lasca e quase seco
Mesmo sendo um restaurante relativamente barato , não vale a pena

We arrived around 8pm in a group of around 100, with a pre-set menu. Service was fairly chaotic. Bread and dips were already on the table (olives, butter, olive oil, a bacalhau pate). By the time any water was served, these had already been finished.
Then a salad of thinly sliced raw bacalhau, strewn with capers, parmesan and a bit of greenery. Extremely salty - and while this was being eaten, they finally came round with a thrifty slosh of white "house wine" - drinkable, but a bit sweet. They eventually brought some red wine around on request, and beer or soft drinks had to be asked for; this made for even more delay. They did top up the wine once or twice later on.
Then came a chunk of very salty cod, huge thick flakes, a bit chewy, topped with hard, crunchy crumbs, with very stringy boiled, mashed-up greens and one tiny potato. By the time this was cleared, it was 10pm, they then brought out another course: two small cubes of pork, sitting on sloppy, salty gunk that looked like porridge - might have been a risotto?. Anyway, too late at night to digest it! A good while later, a dessert of mousse and sorbet arrived and coffee started to come round - but by this time our transport was waiting outside and we had to leave it!
Most of our group (especially the Aussies) found the bacalhau in everything made the meal far too salty. As for us: cod is not our favourite fish, we came away feeling queasy and I had a dodgy stomach next morning.
Not recommended for a group, or unless you like cod!
