Restaurant Cantinho Do Alfredo em Lisboa

The place looks a bit dodgy at first, but don’t be mistaken: excellent local and fresh food, for a ridiculously low price. Seems like dining in someone’s personal dining room, where locals come and have a quick bite. Just under €20 for 1L red wine, bread, pork chops, salmon fillet and a delicious stoved pear.

Try something different. Off the tourist track and filled with local people. Also queueing outside. Only seats 24 so expect to share tables. Food is amazing, select from a chiller cabinet, menu is hand written in Portuguese so we looked at what others were eating and pointed! No frills, but home cooked and delicious. We ordered a basket of bread, steak, a salmon steak, 2 puddings, 2 beers, 2 cokes and it was under €25. Loved it!
