During our summer holiday in Tomar, we decided to drive to Ferreira do Zêzere for dinner, a quick 20-minute drive away. My 17-year-old son and 13-year-old son are descendants of a grandfather born in Tomar, whose own grandfather came from Ferreira do Zêzere to work in Tomar's industries, which were a significant source of regional employment in the 19th century. After exploring the charming center of Ferreira do Zézere, we had dinner at the Grelha do Zêzere restaurant without a prior reservation, and we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant served us well-prepared food, with a focus on quality grilled dishes and side dishes, including salads. The wine list was sufficient, the facilities were adequate without being overly luxurious, and, most importantly, the staff was attentive and friendly. We are especially grateful to Mrs. D. Joana, who not only took care of us and explained the menu but also patiently enlightened us about the history and urban development of Ferreira do Zêzere – a place that we found truly interesting. Therefore, our family highly recommends this friendly restaurant for its excellent service and delicious grilled food.

Been here for dinner half dozen times with family and every dish is just excellent. I’ll definitely recommend the Secretos de Porco. Only four stars as the look is too rustic / old fashioned and staff could be a little bit more welcoming. Also a bit of low/background music will be great.
