Central Café Carvoeiro em Lagoa

I had read the reviews that were not great but we stumbled across the restaurant and I have to say it was really great, family of six for 126 euros was cheap. Service was ok and quite fast although there was only two on duty. Food tasted great, chicken kebab was very good.

Sadly a bit of a disappointment. The menus were falling apart which was a bad sign! It took 10 mins to take orders: gave the impression that taking an initial drinks order was too much effort so they waited and combined with food order. I personally order the pork tender fillet (marked as free range Black Pig) which was supposed to come w cream sauce and mushrooms. There was a very thin sauce but no mushrooms. It was edible but if I’m being honest I was expecting a single fillet, not what looked to have been kebab meat in chunks. As I say not the worst experience and certainly edible but disappointing nonetheless.
