Returned from Furnas on 27 July 2024 for dinner near our hotel. Received a warm welcome from a very nice man who made us feel at home. Even better was the SCP colour scheme, similar to Celtic FC. Very good first impression made - happy father and son. What followed was remarkable. Local fresh cheese with chilli paste and loaded garlic bread (8YO son devoured this in seconds) set the scene. Azorean pork chops, tuna steak and chicken wings then followed. While the final two dishes were very good, special mention goes to the piri-piri marinade on the chops which remained tender. Really loved how the chef skilfully brought things together and made her flavours stand out (very good home-made chips too) Washed down the a large beer, 7up, red wine and water, the bill came to 52 euro. This included 2 cans of Coke to take away and one of the best pineapple bavaroise desserts ever sampled. In short, please come here for dinner. You will love every minute of it and want to come back. Finally, having translated its name into English (golden whistle), I loved the connection to a past refereeing scandal in the Portuguese Super Liga.
