A-100 (Carcavelos) em Cascais

22/09/2024: Was apprehensive about choosing this restaurant based on previous reviews but we didn’t want to travel beyond the marina and only wanted a simple pizza so decided to go with it. We opted for an outside table which on reflection wasn’t a good idea as it was right at the entrance to the car park, therefore subject to exhaust fumes particularly from mopeds. Initial impression of staff was good, with the man on reception being welcoming and friendly, however our server, a young girl lacked all customer service skills. Her service style was was half hearted, merely going through the motions. Her actions were non verbal, just plonking the drinks down on the table then later just abruptly plonking the dessert menu down on the table. The lack of interaction gave an uneasy feel. The restaurant lacks a good vibe and we made up our minds that we’d just have our pizza and head back to the hotel for dessert and evening drinks. It’s not the sort of place that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed and that you want to spend a night there. The pizza itself was very tasty so no complaints there. We asked for bill then no one came to take payment. It was very inefficient. In the end we got up and took the bill to reception and asked if they could take payment. This restaurant needs to up its game.

19/09/2024: I can only think previous reviews are on a different place. Had an excellent lunch, really comfortable, great food and polished and professional staff. Sparkling location. Some really clever menu ideas, selection of desserts outstanding totally delicious Well done to all very much worth a visit
