03/09/2024: Now here's a strange one. Billy Chubbysides here is all for the big portions you get in many Portuguese eateries. bring it on etc, te more the merrier, but here we have one of the first places where even Chubbybuckets had to wave the white flag. Also beware menus that have literally a choice of 25 mains. I always take one of the 5 or 6 at the top of the list because they are generally the dishes fresh today. Went for arroz de bacalhau as I'm a sucker for wet Portuguese rice dishes. This was served in what can only be described as a terracotta bucket. Absolutely enormous. Huge chunks of bacalhau, massive mussels (I prefer small), prawns, red pepppers, tomatoes etc. Humungous. Captain Chubby had to leave some, including the mussels which were big enough to climb into a nd go to sleep (which at this point I was ready to do). meals were going past and I really don't know where the eaters were putting it (pockets perhaps). Lady in front had a plate of five slices of steak, a huge portion of rice, a jug of mayonnaise, a hill of chips and some salad. Guy next door a plate of six or so big sardines with potatoes and a salad that can only be described as the Big Top Comes to Town. Having watched the circus I made another mistake by persuading myself that a small dessert might finish off the experience. Mousse de manga came in a container about a foot deep and a couple of yards across. Needless to say I couldn't finish that either. Risotto was over-salted by the way, but that is the kind of detail lost when you are confronted by food delivered by a waiter driving a fork lift truck.

03/05/2024: Não conhecia este restaurante onde fui com cerca de 10 colegas. Foi tudo servido a tempo e ao mesmo tempo o que é excelente onde TODOS comemos ao mesmo tempo. O Staff são pessoas simples e muito bons anfitriões. O comer mesmo para tanta gente é o melhor: Caseiro... como se estivesse em casa quando assim é nada melhor. Uma grande experiência para voltar a repetir sem dúvida alguma.

27/06/2024: É um excelente local para jantares de aniversário. Também servem um Feijoada Brasileira incrível todos os sábados. Vale a pena experimentar.

13/08/2024: Bij het binnenkomen moesten er, ondanks reservatie, nog snel 2 tafeltjes bij elkaar geschoven worden. We kregen een plaatsje achterin bij de bar… niet gezellig! Er speelde geen muziek, maar er stond wel een tv te spelen. 🤷‍♀️ We hadden een “refter”gevoel. De 2 meisjes die bedienden deden hun best, waren beleefd, maar niet echt gastvrij. We bestelden 3x de “luxe”burger en 1x de ovenschotel: penne with minced meat. De pasta was ondermaats: een waterig rood sausje en het gehakt moest je zoeken met een loep. De luxeburgers waren al niet beter. Uitgebakken champignons (tot zwart toe), een onooglijk plakje chedarkaas op een -weliswaar goed gebakken en van vers rundsvlees gemaakte -burger met wat zielige blaadjes sla en wat tomaat met droge “chips”frietjes… Geen dressing of vinaigrette op het beetje sla, de cocktailsaus dat bij het gerecht hoorde, was er niet. Vlees was niet gekruid en smakeloos. Wat we probeerden te redden met wat zout en peper. De rosé was niet slecht, maar ook niet echt kwalitatief. We betaalden €18/burger en €19,50 voor de pasta 😳: veel te duur voor het maar was! Naast ons is een tafel na een gerecht 2x teruggestuurd te hebben, gewoon opgestapt!

04/08/2024: Do not trust the appeal on their insta pictures. I had the benedict eggs, which had guacamole on them. To my surprise i could only taste curry and paprika on the whole thing. There were also crushed doritos on top, this combo tasted extremely overwhelming. I am used to eating spices on a day to day basis but I felt really sick after this. Don’t waste your time coming here.

02/08/2024: Ementa diversificada, com pratos de preocupação do 'instagram', temos o bentos. A oferta da ementa é interessante. Muitos hamburgers e outras ofertas. O brunch é especialmente agradavel com muita oferta. A comida é de qualidade media/alta, tem uma gama de cervejas que muito aprecio, e o preço é algo alto para a localização.
