13/04/2024: Tired and hungry from a levadas adventure we arrived just after 2 pm stood outside viewing the menu. Our host approached us asked what we would like, asked chef what fish he had for us and produced our Tuna steak with fried corn and salad. Beautifully cooked and delivered quickly along with cold beer. We agreed one of the nicest lunches we have had in a long time.

18/10/2024: Nice diner place , a sort of tapas place with local atmosphere, fantastic flavours and wonderful service. Home made deserts: delicious!

08/09/2024: We had a table in the narrow courtyard which, in early September, did not have the direct view of the sunset, but the atmosphere was relaxed and no stress. The menu refers to the small dishes as “snacks”, but they are in fact sharing plates, so more like larger scale tapas. We ordered three dishes to share: the octopus salad, the shrimp in garlic sauce, and the clam / tuna dish. Make sure to order bread to dip in the sauce! We washed it down with a fresh crisp bottle of local Frei Gigante. The tables are apart from one another, so there is privacy, and the food is delicious but messy. This is why they bring out a wooden box of napkins! All in all a very pleasant experience, with nice staff and prices which are not exorbitant. The restaurant is about a kilometer out of town and adjacent to the nearby Terramar spa/hotel/restaurant complex. For dessert we sampled the orange pudding and a brownie.We weren’t hungry after the meal, but it would be a shame not to complete the meal with some sweets. We tipped by buying the kitchen a couple of beers. They were busting a hump!

15/09/2024: Muito má , a pessoa que estava a servir ao balcão que por sinal deveria ser o gerente foi desagradável e arrogante ,negou se a servir café aos clientes sem uma justificação sequer. Pedi livro de reclamações simplesmente não tinha. Local a não repetir com toda a certeza.

20/07/2024: Dirigimo-nos a Montalegre na mais mítica noite do ano nesta vila, sexta 13. Escolhemos este restaurante para jantar, o menu era completo nesta noite, incluía as entradas, prato, sobremesa e café menos a bebida. Fomos bem servidos, staff super simpático mesmo com a casa cheia. Um lugar ideal também para fazer uma pausa e beber um copo de vinho com um prato de presunto :D

28/09/2024: We sat outside on the deck and watched the sunset as we ate. We shared the garden salad, grouper cervice (which surprise- also came with salad) and the grilled tuna (amberjack, but not sure). The salad was very fresh and the tuna was perfectly cooked.

22/09/2024: Goede kwaliteit producten en heerlijk eten. Voor elk wat wils qua vlees en vis. Ook heerlijke voorgerechten. De prijzen liggen wat hoger maar de kwaliteit eten ook….
