24/09/2024: Just coming to the end of our holiday, but this was our third visit to Pickwicks - this evening I ordered the chicken curry, which was excellent and in fact much tastier than the on I had in the Indian restaurant nearby - dishes I can recommend are 1. Chicken curry 2. Baby back ribs 3. Minced beef & onion pie ( homemade) - great place to have a beer & eat good food - we’ll be back

16/09/2024: Its always a pleasure to call in and see Nick and staff.We called in with some good friends to begin with.Everybody ordered the Red wine Sangria apart from me,I stuck with my usual.Nicks soup of the day Super Bock Beer.Im from Yorkshire and stuck in my ways.But the Sangria must have been good,because the first jug was soon polished off.And a replacement ordered. We did pay some more visits during the following days of our holiday.It was good to see Tyler again ( Nicks son ),we had a couple of midday snacks,which were more than filling on an afternoon. Its always good to call and see all those friends faces ( apart from Donna) Who does the morning shift.I wish them all good luck in the future and keep up the good work.Seeyou all again next year.

17/09/2024: We visit this place every time we come to Olhão, unfortunately this time was extremely different. We choose a golden bream from the fish counter and was served another one that was not even removed from the fish counter. The service has always been amazing but suddenly changed when we asked for our fish to be exchanged for the one we had chose. Due to this we will never return. When asking clients to choose from the counter and then serve something else we found this an insult and not the way all fish restaurants with counter work at least in Portugal. Who is to say that the fish they wanted to serve was fish of the day ? Such a shame as the food has always been fantastic and was when it arrived at the table but due to what happened the lack of confidence that really the produce is fresh was left with us. Like a say such a shame 😞

07/09/2024: Um restaurante discreto mas maravilhoso, com comida de alta qualidade, foi o nosso spot favorito para comer em Olhão. Aconselhamos desde o peixe fresco, ao belíssimo arroz de marisco, á amêijoa, ao lingueirão e ao camarão ao alhinho. Tudo o que aqui comemos foi muito bom, até as sobremesas, doces conventuais da zona. Obrigada á Luana por todas as dicas, e á sua tia.

24/08/2024: Harte unbequeme Stühle, schlechter suco da laranja (ohne Eis, dafür mit allen Kernen die die Orange her gab), Bedienung na-já. Gute Aussicht. Musik vom Nachbarlokal (Jazzkneipe) grauenvoll. (Dafür kann aber das bewertete Lokal nichts)

18/05/2024: Fabulous little spot with views out to sea and the ideal place to have a spot of breakfast whilst waiting to catch the ferry to the islands for the day. Angela runs a very busy cafe with a smile on her face most of the time, well done.

13/10/2024: Three is us had a club sandwich for lunch and ended up with heavy diarrhoea for 4 days. Wish I checked reviews first. Don’t eat here!

16/09/2024: Have been to this place lots of times, mostly for drinks (coffee, wine, beer) or a sandwich. Around 4 pm on August 26th we were 4 people there to have a salad. Three of us had a salad with “fresh” tuna and all three had stomach issues (heavy diarrhoea) for 48 hours (2 of us had just landed at Faro airport 2 hours before, so it couldn’t have been from other food). We kindly sent an email to the place informing them of this issue. Still no reaction after a week. When heading for the beach I went to tell the story (in Portuguese) to the place itself. Manager was not there, but staff pointed me to an older lady behind the counter. She asked only whether we were hospitalised (which we weren’t) and then was quite rude in her behaviour, saying something out loud I didn’t understand and then she didn’t want to repeat when I asked her. Not the kind of reaction you would expect, an apology was the only thing we had hoped for, nothing more.

12/10/2024: Toller Ort, tolle Gastgeber guter Wein und frische Austern. Vor allen die mit Ingwer sind ein Hochgenuss. Vielen Dank. Im November komme ich wieder.

16/08/2024: Seriously good little cafe and bar. How this has not had a review since March 24 I have no idea. Happened upon it by chance because we saw the sign for fresh oysters and a glass of wine. This was literally the only place we saw fresh oysters being advertised in the entirety of Olhao, but they do so much more as well. The menu selection is great, with something for everyone and easily enough available for lunch and some drinks. Looks totally unobtrusive and a bit ‘nothing’ but its well worth a visit. The owner is fantastic, very attentive and the service is excellent. Do not miss out

11/07/2024: Lugar agradavel, os produtos são de primeira e sempre frescos, o staf também de primeira (têm dias...:), para mim um dos melhores cafés de Olhão...:)

10/06/2024: The waitress with the short died blonde hair is super unfriendly. Not a particularly pleasant experience here. Wouldn't come again.
