17/10/2024: We went here on our last day here in Lagos for breakfast, we both had the English Breakfast with an iced coffee, and the experience was so good we ended up going back for lunch the same day! The food was fresh, well seasoned, and one of the best meals (both times round) we had during our time in Lagos. The portions were generous and the price made it extremely good value. As for the service, this was absolutely exceptional. The gentleman who served us both times made sure we were well cared for, and was good to have a laugh with. We would recommend Harleys as somewhere in Lagos not to be missed! Food and service 5*s all round! Would definitely go back if in Lagos again 🤩🤩🤩🤩

30/08/2024: After hunting unsuccesfully for some specific places He found on Trip Advisor, we decided this looked like a good bet for brunch - location, vibe and cost wise. I liked that the menu was not too comprehensive as, in our experience, places with a smaller range of food, do it better. I chose a Small Breakfast and was enjoying my 'coffee with milk' when a plate came out with a good amount of salad on it, alongside cheese, ham and a delicious sprinkling of fruit, I thought they had got the order wrong. But no, it was correct, and was shortly joined by a basket of breads and spreads and a large orange juice. More food than I had planned on, but too good not to finish! He had a Frango BLT - made up of two delicious buns with the best BLT ingredients ever, and fries. No complaints from that side of the table either. By the time we were eating, all the outside table were full, and it was a great corner to people watch from. As seems usual though, in our limited Portugal experience, they were in no hurry to move us on, so we were able to take our time finishing, and enjoy the ambience.

25/06/2024: Fantastic steak pie, gorgeous gravy (which from a Manchester lass is praise itself!) and the biggest and totally delicious chips. Crammed full of melt in the mouth steak, never had a pie so full of meat and so tasty. Perfect pre Euro match meal 👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

24/09/2024: Cafe Jasmin Portugese family run cafe is 5* in food drink and atmosphere! Bruno who own and provides the 5* service is an incredibly knowledgeable person in Portuguese culture events and information in case you need help with finding anything out! Food is fantastic- highly recommend a biffana! Cakes are fresh and plenty to choose from including the best Pastel de Nata in Portugal in my opinion! The cafe has inside and outside seating, often sport features on the tv inside to cheer on your favourite team! Fantastic customer service with a smile whether you are wanting a quiet coffee on your own, lunch with friend or a caneca (pint of Sagres)! Everyone is welcome and greeted with a smile - Bo Tard/Ola! If ever you are in Luz drop in you won’t be dissatisfied! Obrigado Bruno!

10/08/2024: What can I say absolutely amazing man is Bruno an amazing human being who looks after everyone who goes to cafe jasmine. I could go on and on but just go and visit you’ll know what I mean. Thank you for your hospitality 😊

28/09/2024: Tolle Bedienung, kleine aber gute Karte, superfreundliche Kellnerin und leckere Toasts mit frischgepresstem Orangensaft. Sehr liebevoll eingerichtet! Wir kommen wieder!

07/09/2024: Had a bizarre experience in this place last night. Three of us went in - myself, my husband and my son, intending to have a few drinks. My husband and I sat down on a bench and our son pulled over a chair from the adjacent table so he could sit with us. A perfectly normal thing for any pub, bar, café or restaurant. A while later another couple came in from outside to sit at that particular table, and the waitress demanded that our son give up the seat he was sitting in to them. Now, there were actually two seats available at that table, or rather a seat and a stool, but the waitress was adamant that our son needed to transfer to the stool and vacate his seat for the other customers because it “… belonged to that table.” My son is a non-confrontational person, so he did so. (I am rather more comfortable with the word “no” and would have declined to do so). We decided at this point that we wouldn’t bother having any more drinks here. As we were finishing up, I told the waitress that I was unhappy about the fact my son had been made to give up his seat. Any bar or restaurant with any sense realises that feedback from customers can be useful, even (or perhaps especially) if it is negative, and most places will at least listen to what it is you have to say, even if their only response is going to be putting a picture of you up in the staff room so that they can throw darts at it later. At any rate it saves them having to reply to negative Tripadvisor reviews with the plaintive cry of “You should have said something!” I did try to Say Something, but the waitress was having none of it. She wouldn’t even let me finish my sentences and interrupted and talked over me, mostly to reiterate the apparently important fact that the chair my son had been sitting on “belonged” to the other table. My response that surely (in common with the policy of every other bar I’ve ever frequented in the past 40-odd years) a chair “belongs” to the person who is sitting in it at the time only seemed to agitate her more, so I gave up and we paid the bill and left, because you can’t argue with that level of crazy. We transferred our booze-buying allegiance to one of the many other establishments nearby which did not have such strict furniture-based regulations (ie, all of them). I would suggest that other potential customers also choose this very viable option. tl:dr The hospitality industry is not for everyone. Other jobs are available which do not involve contact with unpredictable humans.

24/10/2024: Fui recentemente jantar ao Pateo Velho e superou todas as expectativas, tanto no paladar quanto na experiência em geral. Desde o momento em que entrei, fui recebido por uma equipa extremamente atenciosa, que se preocupou em proporcionar um ambiente acolhedor e sofisticado. O menu oferece uma diversidade de pratos e a harmonia dos sabores foi impecável, demonstrando o cuidado da cozinha em oferecer uma experiência gastronómica memorável. O atendimento foi outro ponto alto, feito sempre de forma discreta, mas atento. Foi-nos explicado cada prato com clareza e era visível o cuidado no atendimento. Por fim, em termos de qualidade-preço é um sítio a repetir devido à qualidade da comida, do atendimento e da experiência em geral.

08/10/2024: Fantástico! Comida e serviço muito bons. Sem dúvida a experimentar. Localização algo difícil de encontrar, pois fica dentro do Tivoli de Lagos. A repetir.

13/09/2024: Excellent position in the square to listen to local musicians. Great service by the staff, serving beer and wine for us.

30/08/2024: Best Granola ever. Wasn't sure when I ordered the Granola, banana, yogurt & honey that I had made the right choice ...... however, it was by far the best granola I have ever had and I'm looking forward to more tomorrow! The atmosphere was amazing and the music was fabulous.

31/07/2024: Café y pastelería perfectos Busco un café barato. Esto está en el baile. Bonita tarta de queso Gallo (Latte) Cerveza fría (1 € . 70 330 ml) Servicio amable local.

26/10/2024: This place is terrible, when we arrived no one was here, but they had a table reserved for 8 in the shade, so they made us sit in the sun for an hour while The “locals” showed up 45 min late. The ultimate in poor customer service. I would eat anywhere but here.

15/10/2024: Friendly staff with reasonable prices for a tourist town. In general very good with one exception for each time I ate there. My first was a combo of pork and chicken skewers. The char was nice but a little seasoning would have gone a long way. Good size meal and price but the pork was overcooked. If you order this I would suggest you ask for medium or medium well unless you like well well done! Charcuterie tapas was very good but could have used some bread. Otherwise I was quite happy with the place. Semms to do very little business in the evening but still nice for a drink.
