07/09/2024: We had been at the Dead Sea experience before heading to Gunther's Restaurant - two new experiences.
And how lovely lunch was. And also incredible value. Fixed lunch menu was €15 and included covers, choice of 3 mains, 3 desserts and drink.
I had sea bass (Robalo) for my main and it was beautifully presented tasting as good as it looked. That was followed with cheesecake. Oh and my drink was a crisp glass of white wine.
Couldn't fault the food, service or the restaurant. Only issue as I see it is the location. You really won't come across the restaurant you'll need to seek it out. But if you do, it will be worth it.

18/11/2024: Nos encantó la comida en este lugar. Los 4 adultos pidieron lo mismo. Era una variedad de comida portuguesa desde pescado hasta pollo y algunos platos sorpresa. Nos encantaban todos. Mucha comida por 15 € ea que también incluía bebidas y postres. ¡No te pierdas este lugar!
05/11/2024: Tipico ristorante portoghese che fa anche gastronomia, molto piccolo e semplice ma abbiamo mangiato divinamente. Specialità della casa è il pollo alla brace, ma ci sono anche ottimi piatti di pesce.
Dolci da raccomandare, vino della casa ottimo

28/10/2024: This little restaurant is our favourite in Olhao - tucked away in a quiet side street. The staff here are so gracious & professional. The food is outrageously good - we have eaten here each time we’ve been to Olhao & can’t believe how good the food is. It is very reasonably priced too & dishes that we haven’t seen elsewhere. Highly recommend it if you’re in Olhao - you will usually need to book - the tables are few & in big demand.
17/10/2024: We tried this little restaurant for the first time this year and we were so pleasantly surprised we returned the next night too. The menu sounds simple and so we weren’t expecting much but each dish was fantastic quality and so well flavoured. The service was charming. Pigs cheeks, leeks with almonds, garlic prawns and the goats cheese and orange walnut salad were our favourites. Good value for money for the size of the dishes too (bigger than a normal tapas dish). Really recommend for foodies!

13/07/2024: The best place for breakfast in Olhao. We came back every day after going to a few different places. The owners’ hospitality was the best, our first time in Portugal, so we we loved the friendliness. Back to the food, everything is made fresh on the day and big portions perfect for adventuring. They also helped us find things to do with tips and tricks which was massively appreciated! There was a packed karaoke with all the locals on the Saturday that we were in Olhao which we have amazing memories of with family! We will be back soon!!!!

21/10/2024: Food was cooked as we ordered. However we were seated away from the bbq as he said its not good with so much smoke. So you can imagine when half way through our meal they seated a couple next to us who were constantly smoking cigarettes from the moment they sat down. Even as they were eating their meal. Other diners were more respectful and went outside the restaurant area to smoke. Firstly, shame on anyone so inconsiderate to smoke around other people at a dining table. Secondly when I paid the bill and asked if it was their policy to allow smoking at the table they replied "of course" When I said well I won't be back, he simply shrugged his shoulders and said OK. Would mot recommend based on this behaviour

10/09/2024: Horriblemente horrible. ¿Por qué la gente piensa que los vegetarianos no tienen gusto? Terrible comida y peor actitud del personal. Sugiero que el chef pruebe su comida antes de servirla.

12/11/2023: Tivemos que esperar 2 horas pela comida, mas foi boa e eles fizeram o seu melhor. Reservas são melhores 😀
30/10/2023: Uma surpresa realmente positiva e inesperada: os camarões que pedimos, um com camarões crescidos em massa de tempura e outro em óleo de alho, estavam muito bons, assim como o frango grelhado com acompanhamentos. A mousse de chocolate estava muito doce, como é típico do país, mas juntamente com a Bica foi um final muito bom para esta surpresa inesperada.

07/08/2024: It is with great disappointment that I write this review as my husband has been coming to this restaurant for nearly 30 years and myself nearly 20. One thing you could always rely on was amazing steak and we were left very disappointed with the quality of the food. We both had steak on the stone and it did not look like a good cut of meat. It was stringy, very hard to carve and very chewy. There isn’t the same presence about the place anymore and what used to feel like a place you were welcomed back to is now just another restaurant. Sadly I don’t think we would come back.
27/06/2024: Good restaurant for an evening meal. Plenty of dishes on the menu. Food was well cooked with generous portions. The staff were friendly an helpful.

11/12/2024: Disfrutamos de un sabroso almuerzo aquí. El propietario y su hija eran serviciales, dejándonos elegir lo que queríamos. Compartimos un entrante de pequeñas sardinas fritas , disfrutamos del vino blanco recomendado para contar la comida. Luego comí merluza que simplemente estaba cocida y sabrosa acompañada de arroz con tomate, mi pareja eligió la sepia que como sabrosa.
La comida llegó a su debido tiempo y estábamos felices sentados bajo el sol esperando a que estuviera recién cocinado.
28/11/2024: Gran escenario, pero necesito estar muy relajado sobre el tiempo. Muy agradable anfitrión y el personal y la comida estaba bien
Pan y aceitunas más atún/caballa muy agradable
Traté de pescado local, elegí merluza que estaba bien, pero soso, arroz y ensalada mezcla muy agradable - vino muy bueno, que moderó mi comida de 2 horas, ya que sin prisas y gran entorno
