05/10/2024: Muito bom o nosso jantar,estava tudo na perfeição,sabores da cozinha tradicional portuguesa 5* Quanto ao atendimento não ficou atrás devido ao cuidado do sr Zezé e do sr Cristiano É restaurante a voltar

04/10/2024: No one was here, but we arrived at 5:30pm😉 We were received warmly, had a beautiful table for 2, ordered the fresh bread and garlic dip, amazing!!!! We ordered our entree/ seared tuna, prepared to perfection with a wonderful salad. Service was superb as was our meal. After dining, of course the place was filling up. We felt special being there early, however I imagine any time you arrive you will be well received! Great dinner, I would highly recommend this place:)

15/10/2024: My wife and I arrived hungry from our long travel and went to this restaurant because it was downstairs from our apartment. Much to our surprise we thoroughly enjoyed our tasty fish sandwiches.

07/09/2024: By far the best food I’ve tasted in Portugal so far. And also the most interesting and slightly nerve wracking way to secure a table. Firstly the restaurant takes no reservations and you can only pay in cash. The trick is to get to there at about 5.15pm and join the queue. You may get lucky and be seated straight away once their doors are open or you might have to come back later. Unfortunately we got there just before its opening time of 5.30 and the queue was already around the corner. Just as we got to the front, the last table was taken by the couple ahead of us. We were told to come back at 7.45 and had our name written into an exercise book. We turned up again at around 7.30 and eventually got seated at 8.00pm. Many people got turned away at that time as there was no hope of them getting a table. The wait was well worth it and the ‘must try’ dish is the prawns for two. Simply delicious. I’m so glad we persevered and waited for a table. I will never forget this meal.

27/08/2024: Abbiamo atteso circa un ora , fiduciosi e motivati dalle recensioni ottime... Esperienza pessima!! Nn vale l attesa! Una zuppa intrisa di Cipolle maleodoranti e panna !! TERRIBILE!! sconsigliato!!! In portogallo abbiamo sempre cenato bene ...tranne qui!!

05/10/2024: Sehr leckeres Essen und ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir waren 2 mal hier essen, da es so gut war. Am ersten Abend hatten wir Thunfisch Tataki und einen Fischspieß und am zweiten Abend Muscheln und Gemüsecurry. Alles sehr zu empfehlen und wir überlegen heute noch einmal dort zu essen.

06/10/2024: Nem cheguei a entrar! Tentei ligar desde as 11h30 para reservar mesa para o almoço de domingo, o telefone sempre desligado. Na esperança de chegar antes da abertura do restaurante. Chegamos às 12h25, o restaurante abre às 12h30. Já éramos algumas pessoas á espera. Qual é o meu espanto que um Sr. sai á rua às 12h31 a dizer que quem não tem reserva que não vale a pena esperar que está cheio! Sai eu de Portimão com 3 crianças, na esperança de almoçar no famoso restaurante que de antemão já não tinha mesa porque simplesmente não atendem o telefone!!! E sabem qual foi a resposta do dito sr? “Tem razão, nem vou discutir consigo” Vontade de voltar? Não. Não volto porque restaurantes a servir arroz de marisco existem muitos e esses atendem o telefone.

25/09/2024: La comida exquisita, el trato del personal también, lo malo es la larga espera para sentarnos y para servirnos la cena. Pero mereció la pena.

04/09/2024: Este restaurante é fenomenal, cheio de gente , ate cria se fila. É muito bom , para se comer peixe. O robalo grelhado tinha bom aspecto, as sardinhas idem aspas, eu comi bacalhau desfiado com batata, gostei imenso.

29/08/2024: Há 20 anos que frequento esta pcasa. Eu e a minha família. Era ponto certo de encontro todos os anos. Este ano voltámos, como sempre. Notamos imensa diferença e só depois percebemos que a mudança se devia à troca de gerência. Lamentável. Deixou de ter mesas corridas (que eram identidade do espaço). Um lugar que conservava o típico e tradicional decidiu abrir um canto fancy para Gins etc com música que destoa completamente do ambiente do resto do espaço… para além disto, as batatas fritas, que era mm estupendas, perderam muita qualidade e as doses estão francamente mais ferradas. Zero a impatia no atendimento. As filas intermináveis de outrora, nem as vimos. Uma desilusão.

24/09/2024: This is a traditional Portuguese restaurant serving traditional foods. It's my first visit and my wife's 2nd (or 3rd), so she insisted we visit claiming it's very good. We have different tastes. I wasn't wowed by the food but will take some inspiration from the hot cheese starter. It was good. I'd like to get some of those earthenware pots to try this at home It'll be so easy to make. The main course I had on the other hand was a real disappointment and showed me why I can despise Portuguese foods so much. I had wild boar in a pot. A slow cooked stew, that I'd hoped it replicated a fantastic dish I once had in Alentejo some years back. Sadly, it was dreadful. For some bizarre reason the chef decided fresh mint was a great addition to this dish. It wasn't and it killed the dish. The sauce was wet and overpowering with this herb. Nothing like what I had expected. This is typical of the inconsistencies of Portuguese home cooking in places like this. I have a discerning palate. French descendant and keen cook. I can't speak for my wife, but there are better places to visit than here and I was surprised by the great reviews this place had. Food is subjective I guess.

08/09/2024: Super restaurant typique portugais , avec une cuisson parfaite que ce soit le poisson ou la viande . Vraiment un top restaurant à conseiller. Un plus pour le service et l'accueil

19/10/2024: Wir waren vor vier Tagen dort und werden das Gefühl nicht los, das der Inhaber gewechselt hat. Kritik ist nicht gewünscht. Das Gaspacho mit Burrata war bestückt mit einem eher billigen Mozzarella anstelle der Burrata. Beim Nachtisch „Spongecake“ was eigentlich ein Bisquit ist, handelte es sich um eine Creme/Pudding. Der Chefkellner konnte mit dieser Kritik überhaupt nicht umgehen, für ihn sei das genau ein Spongescake, eine erwartete Beratung zum Wein gab es auch nicht. Glas 8 Euro schon heftig zu dem wie wir das Alma Lusa eigentlich kannten. Zu teuer für unprofessionelle Bedienung und Schlechtem Umgang mit Kritik

15/10/2024: Niet in het oude centrum, maar wel helemaal vol. Heerlijk gegeten, goed geholpen bij wijnkeuze. Een gezellige zaak, waar ook veel bewoners komen.

27/09/2024: Nous sommes tombés sur ce restaurant par hasard et nous sommes très satisfaits! Nos repas étaient délicieux, particulièrement la riz aux crevettes. Nous le recommandons sans hésitation.

23/09/2024: Very friendly staff, fish excellent, portions very large! We could have done without a starter or shared a main course- but this is not a bad complaint. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

29/09/2024: A barrigada de carne e peixe é divinal, podes repetir quantas vezes quiseres. Preço muito acessível e o espaço muito agradável. Funcionários simpáticos.

10/09/2024: Locale tipico e caratteristico. Propongono all you can eat di pesce a 16,50€; noi invece abbiamo provato la cataplana per due persone: una zuppa di pesce tipica dell'Algarve. Hanno anche varie scelte come dolce, tra i quali quello della casa molto buono. Hanno anche un'ampia scelta di vini. In due per una cataplana per due persone, una bottiglia di vino locale, due dolci, un'acqua da 0,70 e pane abbiamo speso 64 euro. Ci tornerei assolutamente, rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente

05/10/2024: Super leckeres Essen, tolles Team im Service. Egal wie voll das Restaurant ist, jeder Gast wird von der Chefin mit ausgesuchter Freundlichkeit empfangen. Preis- Leistungsverhältnis klasse. Rundum eine tolle Empfehlung.

21/10/2024: If you want good seafood, give this place a visit. The seafood was great and fresh. We were bummed out the goose neck barnacles were out of season but the seafood platter for 2 was delicious!

16/10/2024: Unlike tourist eating places in Central Lagos, this restaurant succeeds purely on the quality of its food. The location is nothing special, and the restaurant itself is modest. But the service is friendly & attentive and - most importantly - the seafood is first class. Don't go there to impress: Go there to enjoy excellent food at reasonable prices.

19/10/2024: Fuimos a cenar por recomendación del hotel, teníamos las expectativas altas y hambre, menuda decepción el bacalao... estaba tieso, duro, incomible!!! Tenia pinta de ser congelado cosa que nos extraña ya que esta el puerto enfrente. El camarero pasó olímpicamente de nosotros, no nos dio ninguna solución, nos sacó la cuenta y a la calle... el emperador y los chipirones estaban buenos pero poca cantidad, nos gastamos 50€ y salimos a pedirnos una pizza en un local cercano porque nos fuimos muertos de hambre. Menuda decepción

10/10/2024: Although the red snapper was tasty, everything else about this meal was disappointing. The vegetables and rice were unseasoned and bland. The other fish we ordered was overcooked. There is no atmosphere at all, which we were willing to overlook if the food was worth it, but it wasn't.

13/09/2024: Abbiamo provato una Cataplana di Peixe e Marisco, scelta molto azzeccata. Piatto eccellente, ben preparato, ricco di pesce, frutti di mare e verdure con sapori ben combinati, tanto da richiedere una scarpetta finale

10/09/2024: Enjoyed our visit here. We arrived early - about 7.15pm - but were told it was a 45 minute wait, so booked a table and went for a drink, all good. Steak was perfectly cooked, and sea bass really good. We had some bread and accompaniments to start - the carrots in garlic butter were a bit odd but the fish pate was excellent. Really friendly staff. Quite a small restaurant sandwiched between the two Indian restaurants, would definitely recommend.
