01/09/2024: We came here on first night and we weren't disappointed. Very simple style restaurant, like an old styled taverna, with waiter bringing around fresh fish to show us what was available on menu. We had to try the fish kebabs and were excellent, my monkfish was delicious, Kids had kid meals and my daughter particularly liked the turkey grill steak which was freshly cooked. Very friendly atmosphere and you can see them cooking the bbq outside from your seats.

18/09/2024: We arrived and was looking forward to this after getting this recommended from someone in our hotel, we was looking for to this as it was our last night in Albefura and always keep a nice restaurant for the last night. We ordered with the guy that sat us down we ordered a bottle of wine, sprit/7up to go with wine calamari to share, 2 steaks both medium rare. I asked for no pepper corn sauce and no salad. Calamari come and it was nice probably the best thing about the meal. By the time we got our calamri we still hadn’t had the lemonade after asking 5 times and once we asked again the waiter held his finger up(as to say one moment) - we just found this rude! Our steak come out my boyfriend was covered in pepper corn sauce considering he asked for it on the side he asked to send it back n a different waiter then trekked to bring it and try to get him to eat it while his got sent back in it into mine so it didn’t go cold, it was cooked medium to well which is not how I like it and because of how rude they was when we sent my boyfriends back I didn’t want to send it back. Mine also come with salad on not a big deal can just move it but still not what I asked for. My boyfriends come back perfect then with no salad, pepper corn on the side and medium rare. The chips was like Mccan wedges. We also had to ask another 5 times for the next time we wanted a sprit. I will upload some photos Overall not a good experience and very disappointed as it was our last night - I have circled my steak on the photos and we asked for the same

02/11/2024: Lagar Mar. Le Renouveau Àh quel plaisir de voir la renaissance du Lagar. La nouvelle propriétaire portugaise Ana donne le smile à tous.. un plaisir d’y revenir, la cuisine toujours au top, et l’accueil digne de cette institution d’Olhao. A ne pas manquer

26/08/2024: Vorsicht Urlaubsgäste!! Wir hatten leider in diesem Restaurant unsere schlechteste Erfahrung im gesamten Urlaub gemacht. Es begann mit unfreundlicher Begrüßung, dann folgte die Frage nach den Getränken. Es gab weder eine Karte noch irgendwelche Preise oder Empfehlungen. Wir fragten nach einem trockenen Weißwein, darauf war die Antwort: Flasche oder Glas? Uns wurde einfach eine Flasche gebracht (weiterhin ohne Info), mit der Rechnung stellte sich ein Preis von 26 € heraus. Da es sich um ein Fischrestaurant handelt und wir deswegen dort waren, fragten wir danach. Wir konnten zwischen verschiedenen Fischsorten, die auf Eis lagerten, wählen. Es hing eine Preisliste an der Wand für die verschiedenen Gewichtsklassen der Fische, wir entschieden uns für eine Dorade, erneut keine Info über das Gewicht bzw. Preis. Ungefragt wurde uns Couvert (in dem Fall Brot und 2 x abgepackte Butter) servier. Wir verzehrten dies nicht, da wir es auch nicht bestellt hatten. Auf der Rechnung erschien natürlich ein Preis dafür in der Höhe von 5 Euro. Der Fisch war trocken gegrillt, schmeckte fade und zusammen mit in Salzwasser gegarter Gemüsebeilage war es keine Offenbarung. Zusammen für dieses 1 Hauptgericht und einer kleinen Vorspeise (Muscheln) und 1 Flasche Weißwein betrug die Rechnung 150 €. Dies ist leider sogar für diese teure Urlaubsregion einfach Abzocke gepaart mit einem unfreundlichen Kellner und daher wählen Sie lieber eines der vielen anderen regionalen Restaurants mit landestypischer Küche und freundlichen Menschen, denn die gibt es dort genug!!!

26/09/2024: Lugar para esquecer. Patrão insolente e malcriado. Desorganização. Não há registo de chegada e as pessoas ficam imenso tempo à espera, com inumeras mesas vazias, ao molho a discutir umas com as outras, até que chega o patrão com arrogância a maltratar os clientes quando referem estar à frente, manda-os embora. Vergonha. A arrogancia de barriga cheia acaba sempre mal. Um dia há de querer clientes e há de estar às moscas. Boa sorte!

08/09/2024: Came here on our first night in Olhao - recommended by a family member and our hotel. Atmospher, service and wine lovely (they do half bottles which is great!) Freshness of seafood second to none. However it went a bit downhill from there. I had seafood w/rice and my husband had monkfish w/rice. Both rice elements very over-salted, the monkfish especially so. A real shame because it seemed like maybe both dishes had just been cooking too long (the type you'd cook in a big pot). Had high expectations but fell a bit short.

28/10/2024: We had dinner here twice during our holiday, both dinners were lovely and cooked wonderfully. It was both of our girls birthdays and they made a big fuss of both of them, I can't thank you enough. The wine collection in this restaurant has to be one of the best I have seen, the walls are covered! I would definitely recommend this restaurant if we are ever back in albufeura we will definitely eat here again.

17/10/2024: Weekje Portugal met 5 vriendinnen, 2x hier gegeten. Heerlijk eten, zowel tapas als gewone gerechten. En het personeel is echt super vriendelijk!! Aanrader!

05/09/2024: Fomos por causa dos bons comentários e ficamos muito decepcionados. Pedimos uma surf and turf que é uma prancha com camarão, camarão, lula e carne, e os frutos do mar estavam super passados. Muito seco e velho. A carne estava mal passada como pedimos e as crianças se encheram de batatas fritas. Os mexilhões à francesa não valiam muito, muito longe dos mexilhões que se comem na Bretanha francesa. Enfim, o restaurante estava cheio mas não sei se era isso ou é sempre igual. Vimos pessoas com peixe grelhado, mas eles não apareceram no nosso menu, então haveria um menu de peixe que eles não nos deram. De qualquer forma, nossa experiência não foi muito positiva então não voltaremos.

03/09/2024: Foi uma pena que várias de nossas escolhas preferidas estivessem fora do menu quando visitamos no domingo à noite. Peguei o último piteu de bacalhau, que estava bom. Se tivesse menos espinhas estaria melhor, mas era peixe. A sobremesa, 3 iguarias, estava muito gostosa.

17/11/2024: La atención buenísima, el camarero súper agradable, nos aconsejó sobre el menú y muy atento a nosotros en todo el servicio, el resto de personal genial también. La comida riquísima, pedimos la Cataplana de pescado y marisco. Merece totalmente venir a comer en este restaurante.

06/11/2024: Amazing food. We often have to compromise in restaurants as I'm a vegetarian but we were both spoiled for choice here. Enjoyed it so much we came back a second time and were not disappointed. Reasonably priced with super friendly staff. If we're ever in Faro, I know where we'll be dining.

19/10/2024: It was a nice outdoor restaurant right by the marina. My dinner was the better choice than my other half. His was fish with no taste. The mashed potatoes had no taste either. I had the steak which came w French fries. My dish was fine. Certainly the better of the two. Service was good. Then it got busy and had to find the waiter after a while for the check.Reasonably priced meal.

09/10/2024: We got a table right on Marina water edge. Immediately offered breadsticks and they came with a tuna pate. €6.50 added to bill. We didn’t eat the pate. We had prawn risotto and hake fish dish. The hake was fabulous . The risotto was gloopy been thickened un naturally with corn flour or similar. It didn’t have a great texture or taste. The waiter was very pleasant

01/09/2023: É assim eu conheço o lagar á mais de 30 anos sempre com o senhor Manuel o dono a gerir o restaurante sempre foi um dos melhores restaurantes do Algarve agora desde que está lá outra pessoa a gerir tem sido um descalabro só tem manchado o nome do restaurante e o bom no nome do senhor Manuel não aconselho ninguém a ir lá

29/09/2024: We found this restaurant on our city break to Faro. We were so impressed we returned before flying home. I would particularly recommend the chicken and shrimp skewer. Very tasty and a good portion. Staff attentive even though they were busy

19/02/2024: Um dos melhores locais para pegar o pescado do dia. Os frutos do mar são tão frescos quanto você pode conseguir. Tinha o robalo escolhido a dedo grelhado com perfeição. Carlos, o proprietário, cumprimenta você na entrada e pega um peixe na vitrine. O ponto!!

23/09/2024: L'endroit est beau, les plats sont bons mais dommage que le service soit si rapide. Pas le temps de finir l'entrée que les plats sont déjà là !!! Avec les prix pratiqués, on pourrait profiter du moment. Il serait temps aussi de changer les chaises qui ont perdu de leur jeunesse. Expliquer au garçon de salle que les vins rouges peuvent aussi être fruités !!!! Merci de votre compréhension.
