Travessa - Tapas & Wines em Faro

Lovely tapas, sangria and great overall experience. The staff were very friendly and cheerful. Service was very good.

Just couldn’t believe how good the food was. We had fried gambas - marinated in a beautiful sauce. We also had beef cheeks again cooked in a beautiful tasty sauce with the meat just falling apart. We also had a dish I thought we would just try for novelty - chips, ham with a fried egg on the top, mixed up with a fork at the table before serving. I was sure it would just taste if English egg and chips but it was stunning - I found out later it was mixed in a truffle oil. It was gorgeous. Bread was served for one euro and a selection of different breads came. We had a glass of house white and a house red - less than 5 euros each. And both high quality. Again I found out later that the red was an alentejo which in our experience is always a good wine. With drinks, puddings, brandy the whole lot came to under 60 euros for both of us. First I think they should put their prices up. It’s clear the food is cooked over hours and prepared meticulously. Also the staff were super. Thankyou so much. What a pleasure.
