Wow - had been recommended by the owner/friend we had rented our apartment for the week from that this place was the “best steak in town”.
It is - and so much more !
Arriving mid-way through the second half of the semi final that England rugby so nearly beat South Africa and to watch it with 90% green jersied South Africans was great fun. The similarly attired but also face-painted waiters and waitresses were excellent at refilling the glasses and the standard fare for the evening (meat or fish platter) were superb and great value.
Once the game was lost the “springboks” started to flow (crème de menthe and Baileys - basically a green “Baby Guinness” !)
Went back in for dinner Monday night and it was rammed so we booked for Tuesday night and again it was superb.
The mussels starter was stunning, the mid-range Pinotage wine delicious and (for me) the Carpetbagger - a fillet stuffed with cheese, Tabasco and mussels was divine. The other 4 also loved their steaks etc and desserts were good too - had the Peppermint and am now struggling to decide later whether I have that again or the syrup sponge after tonight’s 24 hour pre-ordered Seafood Platter to share.
Really looking forward to that tonight and we have also booked for Friday night too !
Food and drink is all top notch and the staff are all very well trained and do a great job.
Cannot recommend highly enough and booking seems to be a must ???
Everything about our dinner experience was top notch. From being seated promptly to all the staff that took care of us to the wide array of choices on the menu to the preparation and presentation of our meals - perfect.
