Tasca do Rato em Alcoutim

We came across Tasca do Rato while having a stroll along the river. It's at the end of a line of restaurants and was the only one with several tables occupied. We sat outside and soon after it was full inside and out with both locals and tourists. The waitress was very friendly and, rather than try and explain/translate what the special of the day was, she invited him to view it in the kitchen area. He chose to have it (a fish stew type dish) and I ordered tuna. Both were really tasty. The daily specials were clearly popular and at only 9 Euros, it was easy to see why. The drinks were a good price too. We enjoyed it so much that we returned later in the week! My husband had the special of the day, which was liver. (There was also a fish based special). I had the tuna again. Both were really nice.
