Taberna Do Doutor em Porto

06/09/2024: This was in the square close to our Airbnb but we walked around until we saw what we thought was the best. Sat outside to enjoy the streetscape. Our server was delightful. Started with caldo verde...traditional soup with cabbage and it was delicious. My husband has been waiting for grilled sardines and he was not disappointed. I was wanting shrimp so went with the shrimp linguine-just would have liked a few more shrimp. It was a pleasant place...a bit tucked away from all the hubbub.

30/08/2024: We found this little restaurant on our walk in Porto. Went for dinner and had an excellent meal. We had some white Porto Reserva to start with. We were offered cod balls for appetizer which we accepted ( good price, only 2 euros a pice). Then some had grilled sardines and I had pork tenderloins with mushroom sauce. All dishes were very good and big portions. Service was outstanding. And it did not matter that our waiter did not speak much english, some how communication was not a problem.
