This was an attractive restaurant, but we both came away disappointed with our meals. My wife had the gnocchi with vegetables dish. The gnocchi was gigantic and not very good. I had the breast of chicken which was a better choice, but still was below my expectations given the setting and prices.

After a delightful, long walk in the garden, my husband and I stopped for late lunch at the Restaurant. A large and bright space; we were happy to get a table by the window and pleased with the expedient service we received. Both of us were happy with our meals and I was especially delighted by the presentation of my dish. The cod was wrapped in strips of Zuchinni and looked like a work of art. Desserts were as delicious as lunch and the whole dining experience was enhanced by the high level of service. It also made it very easy and comfortable that everyone in the restaurant spoke English very well. When we first arrived the restaurant was full and though not loud; we could not hear the music being played over the system. But when everyone left; we sat at our table savoring our pleasant surroundings which included a gentle piano playing popular tunes. Perfect.

Passamos momentos absolutamente fabulosos aqui no Terra Nostra Garden Hotel. Adoro a forma como este hotel é fiel às suas raízes na sua decoração, com uma grande referência aos anos 1920/30. Tanta escolha para o café da manhã, cereais e pão sem glúten fornecidos assim que nos sentamos. Os jardins são espectaculares e aproveitámos ao máximo as piscinas termais uma vez fechados os portões ao público, ficando-as quase só para nós. Um passeio noturno no jardim é mágico e obrigatório. Tivemos algumas refeições fabulosas no restaurante, é aconselhável fazer reserva. Não posso culpar a nossa estadia.

Ótima localização para tudo em Furnas e uso gratuito de fontes termais 24 horas. Eu recomendo ficar aqui.

Hotel incrível! Os quartos e os terrenos do hotel foram surpreendentes. Ótima maneira de conhecer a região e ter acesso às instalações após o expediente, etc. A equipe da recepção foi ótima. Excelente sushi e coquetéis. Contras: Os servidores da lanchonete do pátio e do restaurante de sushi precisam de algumas melhorias.

Nós não ficamos, mas comemos no restaurante e nos divertimos muito. Ambiente acolhedor e muito limpo, funcionários muito simpáticos e pratos muito bons. Comemos o bacalhau (bacalhau) e o prato típico cozido no gaiser (incrível), principalmente aquele sabor defumado... então o que posso dizer, estou dentro do parque termal. Maravilha

Caldeiras & Vulcoes Restaurante

18/10/2024: I had researched Furnas and Geothermal Cuisine offered throughout the town. I believe at most restaurants you need to reserve a day or so in advance for the different Cozidos, etc. Caldeiras & Vulcoes website was easy to navigate and my email with reservation was quickly firmed up. Their menu is varied, so something for everyone. The restaurant is located at the east end of town, near the steaming calderias = interesting. (FYI, the restaurant is up one flight of stairs.) We also drove to the lake where most meals are cooked. If you arrive around 10:30 am you might catch the men transferring the huge pots to/from the steam pits. Now to the food! We had the traditional Cozido for two with a mixture of meats, sausage and veggies. Rice was served on the side. The portions are giant and I think we could have shared one. We were able to bring the uneaten leftovers back to our vacation rental. The entire meal reminded me of New England boiled dinner. And I loved the Morcela (blood sauage).
03/10/2024: Super Erfahrung das „Cozido das Furnas“ zu probieren. Viel Fleisch in jeder Form. Dazu eine super Weinempfehlung vom Chef, problemlose Reservierung per Mail (mind. 24 Stunden vor Besuch bei der Spezialität Cozido) und aufmerksamer Service. Aufgrund der Menhe braucht es keine Vorspeise ;-) Der Ananas-Nachtisch war der Beste der ganzen Reise!

27/08/2024: Great place to eat at least for lunch that is. We took a tour from our hotel with the best driver ever and he took us here. We had the famous stew which is cooked in the heat of the volcanos near lake Furnas. They have underground pots in a hole they cover and slow cook every day. What a treat. It had corned beef, pork belly, cabbage, carrots, turnip, blood sausage, chorizo and who knows what else. The flavor of the meat and vegetables was to die for if you like the ingredients. A must if you are in the Azores. Service was outstanding but it is a busy place. Very clean and the owner greets you at the door. Parking is a little difficult and there are stairs to go up to the main dining area with no elevator. Yummy!
04/05/2024: Si vas a Furnas no dejes de probar el cocido elaborado en las fumarolas o caldeiras de esta localidad en alguno de sus restaurantes. Yo lo hice en este que se encontraba abarrotado de clientes y el trato fue exquisito y el producto también. No dudaría en volver. Los equipos que trabajan bien saltan a la vista. Este es uno de ellos. ¡Felicitaciones al personal!
