12/10/2024: Ce lieu, creusé dans une falaise, avec sa plage privée, offre une magnifique vue sur la mer . Ce restaurant propose des plats traditionnels dont les poissons issus de la pêche locale. Comme partout au Portugal, si vous acceptez le pain, vous le payez ! Service assez long car les mets sont proposés au fur et à mesure des commandes. Plats très copieux et accueil chaleureux.

15/09/2024: I was very surprised to read negative reviews on here. We have been eating at Rocha da Pahla for 15 years and the staff have always been friendly and welcoming. They have kept the same lead waiters for many years which is also a good sign. The food is generally of a high standard and the sangria is a much better price than neighbouring bars and restaurants. For the first time, I booked a table in advance using the online contact form and received a confirmation email the day before our visit. When we arrived, we were on the list and had a good table reserved for us by the window to look out at the sea. The gratinated goats cheese starter was excellent as was the cream fish soup. My monk fish rice was packed with monkfish and was very well-cooked. My partner's steak looked delicious. The only negative were the fries which tasted as though they were from the freezer. This would not prevent me from coming again as everything else was perfect and the price was lower than many restaurants would charge for the same food. A big plus is they serve individual cataplanas and seafood rice dishes whereas a lot of places only make them for 2 persons and the price per person is still cheaper tan the majority of others. This is a very busy restaurant so pop in beforehand to book or book online.
