O Pinhal em Silves

12/09/2024: This is a really local authentic Portugese joint in the centre of town, and it’s really good. The food is delicious, we had the sea Bass which was great. Big line-up of people to get in, which attests to its popularity. It’s a no frills place, very casual, very reasonably priced, it was 50€ for two people. Highly recommend.

01/09/2024: We’re staying in an absolutely lovely resort hotel but we yearn for a proper taste of Portugal. Amongst others, this is where we go to eat. We were advised to arrive by 7pm and put our names down for a table. We arrived at 7.10 and there were three tables left. It’s so very popular and here’s the reason why… The fish is simply grilled and served with potatoes and salad. It’s delicious. You cannot possibly ask for more. It’s also reasonable and the service is great. We had sea bass (at a fraction of the price and more delicious than our hotel’s fish offering the night before.) They had sold out of sardines so I think the next time we’re lucky enough to venture to O Walter, we’ll make sure we’re there promptly at 7pm!
