Illiabum Restaurante em Porto

09/10/2024: This restaurant is lovely with a great view of the water. They accommodated 11 of us at short notice. Service was excellent and very friendly. The food was really good and very high standard. We had a selection between the fresh fish of the day, John Dory, lobster, crab and steak. All were really excellent. Sides and chips were good, especially the tomato rice served with the John Dory. We found it to be good value for money given the great food and service. We would most definitely recommend.

12/09/2024: This restaurant has certainly gone upmarket over the years, in terms of decor and cost. It is 7 years since our last visit. We had the sardine lunch which was nice although the potatoes were a little hard and we thought the cost of a bottle of Vino Verde at 22 euros was expensive, but what was really disappointing was the serving staff. Previously we have always felt welcome and the staff have been pleasant, however, on this occasion we found the staff to be surly which was the complete opposite of all the other restaurants we visited on our holiday. We won’t return to this restaurant and will find an alternative for a sardine lunch in the future where staff are more friendly and value their paying customers.
