Well worth a short Uber journey from olhao The food and service is so good I do recommend you book in advance as very popular Menu is so good and never had anything I wouldn’t recommend Steak is great

You wouldn't even know this restaurant was here from the road a real hidden gem of Portugal. Really can't put into words how amazing the food is at Gunther's just that it's probably one of the best meals I've ever had! I had the butterfly king prawns in garlic & butter for starter just amazing melt in your mouth, for main I had the ribeye steak again just melts in your mouth & for dessert I had homemade profiteroles again omg so tasty especially with being filled with ice cream & not cream was just amazing. The staff was really attentive, friendly & polite.

15/09/2024: Be prepared to queue to get in this tiny place! They don't take bookings and close at 10pm so last orders are 9pm. Fantastic ambiance and food, just a big kitchen with a huge barbeque and everyone sitting cheek to jowl! Yes, it can be chaotic and the staff are family so not trained in 'customer service', check your bill as ours included the French couple sat beside us! It was all sorted out with much hand waving and laughter!
29/08/2024: Il locale è un'unica stanza dove si mangia, dove viene fatta la griglia e dove si cucina: definirlo alla buona è un eufemismo. Dentro fa un caldo infernale, il servizio è lentissimo e tremendamente distratto tra posate mancanti e comande che non arrivano. Il cibo è molto semplice ma tuttavia piacevole, la spesa irrisoria (32 euro in 3). Se non siete schizzinosi e volete fare un'esperienza potete prenderlo in considerazione.

28/10/2024: This little restaurant is our favourite in Olhao - tucked away in a quiet side street. The staff here are so gracious & professional. The food is outrageously good - we have eaten here each time we’ve been to Olhao & can’t believe how good the food is. It is very reasonably priced too & dishes that we haven’t seen elsewhere. Highly recommend it if you’re in Olhao - you will usually need to book - the tables are few & in big demand.
17/10/2024: We tried this little restaurant for the first time this year and we were so pleasantly surprised we returned the next night too. The menu sounds simple and so we weren’t expecting much but each dish was fantastic quality and so well flavoured. The service was charming. Pigs cheeks, leeks with almonds, garlic prawns and the goats cheese and orange walnut salad were our favourites. Good value for money for the size of the dishes too (bigger than a normal tapas dish). Really recommend for foodies!
