Farinha em Porto

I was expecting much more after reading all the superb reviews of this restaurant; quite frankly we were very disappointed and have had much better pizzas elsewhere. Ours were burnt around the edges with a very thick, doughy outer crust and were absolutely swimming in cheese. Definitely not worth the hour’s wait for a table.

No 1 and for very good reason. Opens 7pm, joined queue of about 20 people at 6.45pm on a Tuesday evening and was lucky enough to get a seat when it opened. The waiter was a gentleman and honest enough when we were ordering starters that 2 were enough for four people rather than one each as they were quiet large. We had a type of bread which was light and airy dipped in a tomato sauce with cheese, just out of this world. Had 4 pizzas all of different toppings , all 4 of us could not find any fault just beautiful. Two desserts which were homemade and to die for, atmosphere just perfect , people queuing up outside to get in and we can see why. If in Porto and you are partial to a Pizza then this place is a must, the cost of 2 starters, 4 pizzas, 1 bottle of white wine, 2 glasses of rose and 2 pints of larger was €110 which was very reasonable for the volume and the quality of the food. Once again I must praise the waiting staff as they are really on top of their game and a credit to the establishment.
